18 years old, fast tracked to the first team at Leeds utd and has just dominated a Brighton midfield in front of 30k. Still raw and has his moments but at 18 to do what I have seen him do to so-called quality midfield's in his first season!!(Norwich, Derby, Brighton)...the lad is a star in the making.

Agree with Shaun and Revie the King. Taylor was excellent today, nullifying Knockaert and causing Brighton plenty of problems. He brought a lovely blance to the team and the midfield looked a lot more comfortable with him supporting them.

No people were saying there better than some who are playing
Dave better than Phillips, okane and Bridcutt
Was good last season and been excellent for Ipswich
Or you disagree, and don't give me he can't run or monk doesn't rate him
What do YOU think
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dave is only averaging 6.35 on OPTA since joining Ipswich, and that is skewed by having 2 reasonable games, most games he is subbed. And the one game he played for us this season he got a 6.38 rating.
His passing is woeful, 73% success where Bridcutt is averaging 81%, he doesn't win headers 0.3 v 1.5 pg and doesn't shoot. 0 v 0.3.
So where do you get that he is excellent for Ipswich.

Don't believe in OPTA, at all complete load of rubbish, doesn't factor in situations in a game and never can do.
I got it from Ipswich fans, but I can accept that without actually seeing him, he might not be playing well

We have not missed Dave for god sake

Nobody is saying we've missed him
People are saying the players we've signed i.e. Okane and Bridcutt aren't has good has what he was last season
Personally think we've massively missed cook and Austin before that.
No forward drive in central midfield

I agree on Austin, that's what we need someone of his mould

Austin was and is a beast a lesser Toure , but! That drive forward is something we lack. Box to box midfielder.

I think with Viera he needs more confidence. TheRE was a driving run I'm the game when he took players on and ended setting a chance. Needs more of that instead if the short passes back to the defence.

Might be confidence with viera, might be instruction/defensive responsibilities. I think he can make those forward runs if let off the leash. Think he's a real talent, he'll be a real player once he gets the consistency and decision making that hopefully experience will bring.
I understand the 'player in the mould' of Austin comments, ie a player who can drive forward but don't get the pining for the player himself. He had the odd barnstorming game but if people are slagging bridcutts passing, they must have short memories.
