I've never been disappointed with Benny and have always thought he's looked an assured centre half but never really known how he would actually handle himself statrting a PL game. Well now I know.
I thought he was absolutely magnificent yesterday, I thought he took control in there and made the decision he was going to get his head on or his foot to every ball. I thought he stood up really well, his positioning was excellent, he was always calm under pressure and very good with the ball.
For him to come into the side after not even featuring for the first XI in what must be well over a year and a half, and perform like that in a game where we were well under pressure in the second half, he deserves a huge amount of credit. I'd have no issue with him being the more experienced of the centre halves we need for next season, he's more than capable.

I didn't see him yesterday but on all previous showings I concluded he's good on the ball but defensively a bit of a liability and a guaranteed yellow card every game.
He may be good back up, but I'd need to see a lot more from him to be convinced he's a first choice replacement.

Benny was brilliant yesterday.
Maybe he has never played with a decent partner before, (sorry Wassa but you don't know where I live 😜).
So I would keep him in right now.

Yesterday would have changed your mind, he was really excellent.
