Bakayoko

Chelsea have seemingly agreed personal terms with Bakayoko,- and now just need to agree a fee with Monaco, according to Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague

Mourinho is a big fan of Bakayoko, who nearly made a move for him in January but opted to wait until the summer. But, he is also in Conte's wish list it seems.

It'll be interesting to see who will he sign for in the summer ?

There is no doubt about his talent, and I think he would suit PL, very physical and athletic, and certainly not shy of scoring a few goals. He reminds me a bit of Essien. Monaco have a few interesting players in their books. Mbappe, Silva, Lemar and Bakayoko. Personally, I prefer Chelsea went for Silva.

I believe he'll be in the team regardless, just throws him in the deep end if he had to compensate for a lack of midfield creativity from day one. He's good enough too, just be a curious way to go.

We'd still be heavily relent on Fabregas as well. Unless we got Bonucci in there, no defend is good enough on the ball to replace a midfield playmaker, and Fabregas in CM just makes everyone around him need to work harder - playing more midweek games next season might be problematic if he's leaned on too much.

Course this is all assuming Bakayoko has little too offer creativity. I've only seen him this season and his role has been incredibly restricting in that regard, got no clue if he is any good going forward.

I feel we really need to get Zouma more game time to work out his future with us. He doesnt look bad in a back 3 but at the same time looks a little unassured as well. By all accounts Christensen has being doing a stellar job in a back 3 in germany. Or is the future maybe no Cahill? Would be a little harsh as hes had a pretty good term, but is the weakest imo of the 3 starting cbs.

Zouma could play the Luiz role with a few tweaks made to the distribution from the back, but he could only play that role in this formation unless he becomes much better with the ball at his feet.

Got the sense he might be a Conte casualty this summer. Hope so, stellar CB.

It's not a necessity, but as we've seen in certain instances this season we've needed the vision of a playmaker to pick out passes further up the pitch to beat a deep press. Buying an industrious yet creative midfielder would be a good investment even if it came at a premium. Someone like Verratti would be ideal.

While having a creative player midfielder in the squad is important, I don't think it is a necessity like it was when we played the 4-2-3-1.

The way we play, we stretch the opposition with the wingbacks, which allows one of our defenders (usually Luiz or Azpi) to step forward and make a direct pass to one of our forwards. As long as our midfielders can cope with the ball under pressure, and can pass it quickly and accurately, then they are merely a means of circulating the ball from side to side before we are able to create space for Hazard and Pedro.
