Big story breaking by Spanish radio station Cadena COPE tonight. They are reporting that United have tabled a firm offer for Monaco striker Kevin Mbappe.
They say United offered €80m for him last month, and then increased it to €110m following the Monaco and City clash in the CL. Both bids have been rejected. United are the only club to have made a firm bid for the lad, there's been no interest from Real.
All I have to say on the matter is that I really hope it's BS. Why can't we just spend some money reasonably for once? Is it too much to ask?

Why not 150 million seeing as they turned down 110million. If they don't need to sell and we want him, we can afford him, we're rich.
That's how it works n'est ce pas

One word Pogba and you let him go for free.

It's crazy money to spend on a position we don't particularly need, we still have their last promising young left forward we spend £35m-£50m on remember?

He wasn't a Jose signing though and perhaps feels he isn't what he wants in a player. No fault on the player, just what happens when a club changes its manager a few times in a short space of time
Jose wants to build his own side in his own image. Not everyone can stay and be part of it.

Uefa looking into re-vamping the transfer system as well, to stop big clubs just snaffling up young talent.
========
How do they plan to do that? And isn't that potentially damaging to the non-big clubs who win the lottery every time they discover an Mbappe?
_______________
Exactly.
"I don't know who comes out looking more silly. United for making a €110m offer or Monaco for rejecting it.
I doubt it's true though, would distort the market completely as if it wasn't already inflated.

Mbappe looks a fantastic talent but he wouldn't be the first teenager to burst onto the scene and then fade away a little.
I call bs on this. Think Jose will want someone more experienced considering we already have two really young forwards at the club

This guy looks like the real deal. A crazy fee but if we don't pay it, someone else will.
Look at what clubs like Chelsea are getting for Oscar. Costa may bring in £100 million this summer.
The transfer fee spectrum has been blown apart by China. We should just be lucky we have the money to survive it.

Think you'll find we played a part in that. Cough..pogba...cough.
