Yup, another painful night watching our national team.
First things first, friendly or not, we should be good enough to dispose of a team consisting of players who ply their trade in the lower league's around the world. There is now a high possibility that if we lose to Slovenia on Sunday we will drop to 78th or worse in the rankings, got to be the lowest we have been in some time?
Were there any positives last night? Yes, 1. The performance of Tom Cairney, the 26 year old lad from Fulham who has progressed rapidly the past 2 seasons in a midfield role. He looked very comfy on the ball last night, retained it well and kept it simple when needed, my only concern is his inability to run with the ball and it slowed us down on more than a few occasions last night.
That's it really, the usual dross of watching Charlie Mulgew think he's Beckenbauer, watching Berra still impersonate a footballer, watching a striker who couldn't trap a bag of cement and a midfielder who runs like he does indeed need a sheidt every 3 minutes.
Woeful, just woeful and the only saving grace is I expect the 4 on form Celtic boys to come right into that team on Sunday and hopefully inject some much needed energy and ability.
Line up for me on Sunday will most likely be:
Gordon
Anya
Martin
Mulgrew
Tierney
Brown
Armstrong
Bannan
Snodgrass
Burke
Forrest
If we somehow manage to produce a decent performance and get the 3 points then we still have a slight chance but anything less and it's officially curtains for our campaign and for Strachan and his backroom team.

I didn't see the game and I refuse to read any reports on it. Or even any comments on this thread.
But I hear Wallace cost us the game?

Despite your best attempts to evade all information regarding the game, it appears you left your anti-Rangers filter on

I am sure Robertson or Tiernay are capable of playing at RB for Scotland!

Wallace, Mulgrew and McGregor were at fault for the first goal.
Aird gave Wallace a torrid time in all honesty, not surprising he was hooked at HT.

Wonder when Callum Paterson is due back. Surely must be the best option we have at RB now

Cairney has been one of the best players in the champ this season so why start with bannan?
