Friday trivia question

No looking it up - no point is there.
The oldest person to take part in the Olympic Games did so in 1932 and would have been 96 years old ...................if he was still alive. He had in fact died in 1910.
What event did he take part in ?

No, the arts prizes, as in reference to the Olynmpics, IS a relatively common quiz question.

But the question was about ONE arts prize, you have simly moved the goalposts.
Your sentence was poorly constructed and I'm sure you'll find my correction so much better

Anyway enough of this obfuscation. The answer is WINSLOW HOMER, an artist who had a work entered in 1932 by USOC ! - He didn't get a medal and nor could he as was declared "hors concours".

I haven't answered your question though. I have just stated it is likely to be one of the art prizes that were awarded at some Olympics.

Your sentence is definitely not better, it makes it seem as if there are multiple questions in a quiz about the awarding of art prizes at the Olympics. This is not common in my experience.

It was your badly-constructed sentence tat I tried to correct. As a result I had absolutely no idea what you were trying to convey, blame yourself mate. QED

Only it wasn't poorly constructed.
"Arts prizes is" is correct, as it is a singular answer not multiple, where "are" would be correct.
The adding of an 's' to "question" is also erroneous, as I was talking about a singular question, not multiple. So again a mistake on your part.
