A heartwarming wee tale for Mothers’ Day & not a thread start.
Just listened to a story on Radio4 there.
A backswood Grizzly Adams type living in a log cabin in Oregon nearest
settlement 100 miles away.
Was out foraging one day and was attacked by 2 bears.
He ran off but in his panic his false teeth fell out.
He clambered up a tree and shot the bears dead, but lost his dentures.
He skinned the bears - their flesh and fur got him through the winter.
He used their claws as carpentry tools etc.
He extracted their teeth and made himself a new set of wallies.
And he used these to eat the bear meat.

Most of the worlds fur and leather now originates in China
Those who farm and distribute the pelts make next to nothing beyond keeping a roof and buying food for their families
Much further up the food chain before money is made
For me the demand is the issue
Without that there is no need for the supply
Their will be exceptions mind you

Bees. The forbidden love.
The aggressiveness of a throbbing stinger, the thrilling tease of a quivering ovipositor, the gentle caress of soft antennae.

Committment. Thats what that shows. Committment.
Imagine if you wasted it one night when you were hammered on royal jelly with some fat worker bee though.
