Class from Hart tonight

I just wanted to highlight a moment of class from Hart before today's game. It would have been a proud moment for Hart leading his country out as captain but he passed up the opportunity and told Defoe to lead the team out with the young lad Bradley Lowery. Well played Hart.

rubbish d jeezus he led out city enough times under pellegrini

Apparently if you turn the sound up you can hear him tell Defoe to lead the team out as it will be special for the lad. Defoe asks him if he is sure and he nods and pushes him forwards.

I've met Hart a couple of times. Any of his post match interviews, id say he's about as far removed from arrogant as you get for a top level professional footballer, he's actually very self deprecating.

What I would say though is that he gets himself far too emotionally invested in the occasion at times and that has a detrimental impact, which isn't a behaviour you'd want from a captain.

He is capable of controlling it though, like in our games against Barca and Dortmund. The risk is always there though.

______________

I'd go along with that. He seems quite grounded to me.

The arm band should be put on the player with the most caps on the field at that given time.

A captain in international football serves zero purpose.

Melton

The one time I met him he seemed a typical 20 something lad there was an air of smugness about him but no more than normal for successful lads at that age. I don't recon I'd get on with him personally, if I had to guess based on that experience alone, but he didn't seem a particularly bad type of guy.

Definitely like him more than a few footballers I've had the displeasure of spending any time with. Least favourite was a former Huddersfield player called Duane Holmes. What a little he is!

Yeah I'd agree with that 4, I certainly wouldn't be friends with him!

Andy (or Andrew, whatever he's calling himself nowadays!) Cole and Neil Lennon back when he was playing for Leicester were two that I took an instant disliking to when meeting them.

_____________

Funnily enough, Cole seems like a a good bloke when he's on MUTV but, by all accounts, he didn't get on with Cantona or Sheringham so he does have previous when it comes to being difficult to get on with.

As for being called "Andrew", I've seen him say that he doesn't care whether he's called Andrew or Andy - and he claims to have no idea where that name change issue came from.

He may have mellowed a bit nowadays misty, it was a few years ago that I met him. I work with someone that grew up with him.

It is understandable how it goes to a lot of footballers heads though.

Yeah definitely. I don't know of any other player at United who had issues with Eric or Teddy either - let alone both!
