I must admit this news is rather sad for Scottish football. Yet again we look likely to lose a top young talent to an English club at such a young age for a pittance.
£500,000 is the fee passed over when he turns 16 on June 11th. He's clearly a talented boy and that fee will seem like a bargain if he progresses as expected.
Chelsea have a ridiculous array of young talent already who will most likely take the same career path.
Win the FA youth cup
Score 20 goals
Sign for Bristol City on loan for a year
Win the FA youth cup
Make Chelsea debut in League cup
Sign for Brentford on loan
And repeat.
I have no doubts we will lose the young lad Dembele as well, although he is 14 later in the year I still expect him to move before we even get a chance of seeing him in a Celtic jersey.

Did we not scout Tony Watt whilst he was at Airdrie?

Peterborough, Barnsley etc tell you that if they get ANY sort of offer for your kid then he's out the door..that's how their Academy's survive.

Either way you are talking between son and parents of a million quid for a contract. By what 18?
Can hardly blame them - more than most scottish players will earn on their career now

I think it's right that Gilmour should go to Chelsea and try to emulate the success of Pink Floyd Hasselbaink.

One of Gilmour's family says the boy hasn't decided what to do. He could stay at Ibrox.
