Let's say for a second that he wanted to join United
What amount would be too much?
His release clause is around £173 million I think. A helluva lot of money but quite likely to be recouped by merchandise and a likely on field success.
Just curious to see what people would think was too much for a player and also to have an intelligent discussion on how even huge fees like a hypothetical one for Neymar might not be insane. Or maybe it is.
Discuss.

Why would Chelsea be willingredients to depart with Kante, especially if has had a very good season for them ? It's not as if they need the money (unless Conte has other plans).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The bid wouldn't be anything to do with Chelsea and if Chelsea don't want to sell then fine. Move on to the next target.
Yet to see a single post to say why United shouldn't bid and make enquires with club and agent other than "because Chelsea won't sell".
If we don't bid then they for sure won't. But if we do bid, they could.

We should bid for KDB

I've yet to see a single reason why a club richer and currently more successful than us, should think it's a good idea to sell a star player. Especially when said star player specifically chose them.

It's not about whether they choose to sell them. If we offer the release clause and Neymar wanted to join us they can't really do much

Fair enough. Don't think they're richer than us though

I did mean Kante.
Whether Chelsea plc is richer tha United I doubt. But Abramovich has enough personal wealth to buy United at least five times over. If he dcides to keep Kante there is nothing we can do.

I agree with that. It was a stupid idea by what's his name to try and buy Kante
Some players are unbuyable. Weirdly I don't think that's the case with Neymar
