The curse of a double?

Since Roman bought the club, with the exception of Jose’s very first season, the Manager of Chelsea has not lasted much longer than the following season after a double trophy winning season.

Robbie, Carlo (straight after the Everton game) and Jose twice (although the first time was double domestic cups)

It kinda almost makes me wanna win the league only

Jokes aside, I can think of at least 2 of those examples that were massive failings (IMO) by the club in the Summer transfer window. I’ve been told it’s because Roman or the board, in spite of their Head Coach’s warnings have believed the squad good enough to go again without refreshing.

Flash you're certainly right about double trophy wins being bad news for every manager we've had in the Roman era.

You've actually made me really hope we get knocked out of the FA Cup this season

Flash maybe it's the FA Cup itself that's the curse for Chelsea managers.

I remember Ken Bates sacking Vialli not long after he won the FA Cup. Also Gullit didn't last too long as our manager after winning the FA Cup in 97.

Well the 2012 window was a fantastic window, the only problem was, Robbie wasn't a very good manager.

The board can only take the blame to a point, Carlo dug his own grave with his tactics and mislead trust in Kaloudanelka while Jose last season, well where would i start.

Agreed but for me that could depend on the Board learning from previous mistakes. The fact they appear to repeated the same one is a tad concerning.

Not so sure I agree with that, I think they have had a plan and they have occasionally been mislead. No one is perfect and hindsight is a wonderful thing.
