Huddersfield Town 0 Burton Albion 1

Venue: John Smith’s Stadium

Date : 01/04/17

Kick Off : 3pm

Welcome to the unofficial matchday thread for Town against Burton.
Form ( league only ) latest last

Town : WDLWWL

Burton : DDDDWL

Reverse fixture:

Burton 0 Town 1 ( Wells 85 ) 13/12/16

At last a home game ! 25 days since we beat the Villa in a very tough game…

Bristol City- a one off! I think so,

The opposition:

Burton Albion Football Club is a professional club based in the town of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England. Burton Albion competed in the non-League of English football from their formation in 1950 until 2009, when they were promoted to the Football League.

The club's home ground is the Pirelli Stadium, having moved from Eton Park in 2005, and their nickname is The Brewers, stemming from the town's brewing heritage dating back hundreds of years.

This is Burton’s first ever season in the 2nd Tier.

They have the won only 2 away games this season , & come to Town on the back of a 5-3 loss to Brentford after being 3-1 up at home.

Town…

Two weeks needed to recover , lick our wounds, gather our thoughts & go again.. 24 points available in April.. how many can we get?

Injury news…

Hogg is not as bad as first thought & could feature very soon… Palmer & Brown are probably available within 2 weeks, In that 2 weeks weeks we have 3 home games & Forest away…. 10 points minimum has to be our aim…

Players rested & refocused- ready for mad April

Saturday is bring the family along, next generation of Town fans, they can get in for an amazing £3 ! Brilliant by the club again…

Burton are 4th bottom for a reason… so were Bristol… that result possibly wasn’t a bad thing…

When I saw the players giving thumbs up on the plane to Bristol I thought then that perhaps they thought the game was won….

Wagner won’t let that happen again….

Prediction… 3-1 Town

Gate 21, 343 – the twelfth man..

Auto hope….. ? just keep the pressure up boys, Brighton & Newcastle are both at home to teams fighting relegation too… one of us will drop points… let’s hope it isn’t us…

Let the April fool be on another high flyer.. & not the mighty terriers.

I really hate to bash players, especially given the season Town are having, but Quaner is just very very bad at so many things. He doesn't even make up for his inadequacies with either pace or aerial ability.

Will need better than Quaner and Wells to survive in the PL.

I'll do it. I've calmed down a bit.

Could Town be suffering from the famous Klopp burnout we've seen from Dortmund and Liverpool teams on so many occasions?? Players dead on their feet come seasons end having tried to maintain the high press all season. Obviously injuries haven't helped recently, but could be a factor

Plus we have the likes of Payne Lolley and Quaner. All, in my opinion aren't championship players.

Agree about Lolley, he seems to have regressed and offers little. The other two I'm unsure about, they both may develop into effective Championship players if given time and not have their confidence destroyed.

This may seem harsh on Lolley but I genuinely don't think he's quite at the level we need.

I had this discussion yesterday and my son reckons both Lolley and Payne will be out on loan next season if not gone altogether and I can't repeat what he said about Quaner. Perhaps it's that I feel sorry for him and want to give him a chance or it could be my judgement is awful 😂

Payne needs to go to the gym & strengthen up, he's easily knocked off the ball, the lad does have some skill, Lolley is injury prone & regressing, Quaner..
Well enough has been said...

John Terry will be available in the summer! 😉

So will Ibrahimovic
So will Lukaku.

Olive won't fork out those sort of wages.
Terry will be along side Steve Bruce at Villa if anywhere as Head defensive coach.

I've seen the Burton goal.
I'd have taken one for the team (probably a )
& poised that black lad before he could lay the ball off.
I don't mean lame him... Just stop him,
That said, have you seen the ALDI catalogue this week ? Fold-able wheel chairs for $149 ! bargain.
If I'd nobbled him a bit hard, he'd have been alright in one of those on reflection,
just saying like.

Get it up now Hydy
Or, Are you waiting for something to copy & paste

I'll do it at some point Darn. Still seething tbh. Wagbo showed Burton a complete lack of respect with his team selection. I know it's probably been said, but why not start our strongest team?! They'd had two weeks off!

Utter disgrace. This season won't be replicated in my lifetime, so why not go for it
