I don't normally write this sort of article, and won't begin to name players to actually sign cause I'd just sign Southampton players.
But lets say we get CL football this summer, what positions are you prioritising?
Main reason I ask is how high is a new keeper on your list of priority positions?
Ask me 6 months ago and it's number 1 on my list, however I have to say Ming as impressed me this season overall, a few mistakes that cost us but overall he's had a decent season. I'm coming around to the idea now that I'd be ok going into next season with Mig / Karius as the keeper options and would rather see money spent in other positions.
If I had to list positions by prioirty I'd probably go:
Striker / Wide forward (depends on what happens with Studge, potentially buy one of each)
Centre Back
Centre Midfielder
Left Back
Keeper

Im not too fussed if we dont spend big on the midfield or attack at the end of the season.
Scoring goals isnt our problem.

Left back has to be a priority for me. Milner has done fine in certain situations but with two right footed players on the left it makes us one dimensional.

Milner has been fantastic but you could see the problem Saturday, simple balls that a left footed player just lays down the line but Milner using his right ment the ball more than not went out of touch.
And whilst on paper £160m looks a lot, if we get CL and the club is serious about improving a lot of money needs spending.
5 quality signings is going to run you £120m at the very least.

It was when Mane was in AFCOM and lets see how we cope with this new layoff.

The whole team collapsed during Jan. It's not just because Mane was not there.
And we actually started to wane after Coutinho's injury.

We carried on winning when Coutinho was out injured with the freak exception of the Bournmouth game. Origi went on a goal scoring run to compensate.
When Mane left the struggles began. Yes other players were also out of form but we missed that spark that Mane gives us. The way he puts the opposition on the back foot immediately is priceless.

Performances not results.
Lallana started going quiet cos of the position change. Firmino was messed around and moved from his central position. Then Can came in and did well initially but started to fade as well.
Mane's departure just crippled us more.

I'd keep Lucas for one more year if he was willing to be a squad player, Sat showedthat he still has the ability to influence certain types of games, also he's vastly experienced (again evident on Sat) and seems to be a very positive influence around the squad.

He was very good on Saturday but we shouldn't be using him as a centre back when we have fit players in that position.

True KLS, he can do a job there but I'd rather see Gomez given games in his natural position.
But Lucas has plenty to offer, if he wants to go to be a starter somewhere else then no issues with that, he's been an excellent servant to the club.
