Alli

Dele Alli has more goals in the Premier League (16) than Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney combined"

Some of our lot need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Rooney I exempt from this list because we all know this man is long past his use by date and should of been off in the summer.

All of our attackers + Pogba should be taking target practice.

United are criminally wasteful — in terms of what statisticians Opta deem clear-cut chances, they have netted just 20 from 64.

That conversion rate of 31.25 is the worst in the Premier League.

What is Pogba's game? Is he a Modric who dictates play and never gives the ball away. Is he a Gerrard, box to box, genuine goal threat. From what I see he is a jack of all trades, master of none.

Gerrard is actually quite a god of comparison. I don't think Pogba will ever be a great goal scorer of 20+ a season even in all competitions and while obviously Gerrard was world class and a big goal threat, good finisher..he just still didn't get that many goals, an average of 10-15 a season even at his very best. Pogba's mentality though and understanding of the game seems far below Gerrard

I like the system Mourinho tries to utilise. By rights we should've dished out several 4/5-0 hammerings at Old Trafford this season, like Mourinho's Chelsea teams used to on occasion.

The playing staff are culpable. Poor finishing on the one hand, and a lack of quality on the other from players who have struggled to find form due to so much chopping and changing on the starting 11.

The attack is anchored by poor DM options, and our defence has conceded some very cheap goals despite having keeping a lot o clean sheets. A lot of these silly goals have been in games that we've controlled, which points to a lack of concentration.

I'm hoping that out priorities in the summer are:

2 defenders (One LB, one CB)
2 central midfielders to displace Carrick/Fellaini and Herrera as starters
1 striker to take the pressure off Rashford, and to share the responsibility for goal scoring with Zlatan (if he's still here).

Schweinsteiger is gone, and Rooney will be too, so that's c. £500/600k pw off the wage bill.

I reckon at least 3 or 4 more will be shipped out, clearing up the wage bill by c. £1m p/w. We should be able to pick up 4/5 very good players for that.

As Barry says it's not the managers job to manage and motivate the players.

Having watched Utd lately it's the system. There are no overloads, no players flooding the box, no midfield runners and the full backs don't hit the byline.

It's pretty turgid stuff tbh and I'm not even sure the chances are that good. Not like Lallana's against City or Jannsens yesterday. Just bog standard stuff that happens to every team.

Utd have only missed 11 more big chances than Liverpool and Spurs and only 1 more than City.

It's the system.

It really is not.

Why do you think I liked LVG so much? 29 home games last season and only 1 team outshot us and we averaged pretty much double the shots vs the opposition in those games. Under Mourinho we are creating similar to our dominant games under LVG regularly but we can't score. Same thing happened under LVG if you look over his 2 year period our most dominant home games we scored like 10 goals from 300 shots.

Pogba needs to improve rapidly, that's the long and short of it.

Before he he becomes another Veron.
