Like a different team at home

Can we play Preston every week?

We really are a different beast at home, 2 more home games will see us over the line. That was our 22nd win of the campaign, another clean sheet, 3 goals and Chris Wood didn't even score (well he did...). Obligatory red card for Preston too. Let's stop this worrying now, we are going to be in the playoffs and this won't be an easy place for any to play us in the semis.

Green - 6 didn't have too much to do, but dealt with everything he should have.

Ayling - 6 looked to be getting back to his best, bombing forward and mostl6 defended well

Bartley - 7 assured performance

Jansson - 6 mostly comfortable, got turned by Beckford late on

Berardi - 6 another consistent game from him

Phillips - 8 best I've seen him play. Brilliant passing, and helped us keep on top of the midfield

Vieira - 6 works well with Phillips, 6 wins out of 8 they have started together

Roofe - 9 MOTM brilliant game, got his goal and a great assist, they couldn't deal with him

Hernandez - 8 not everything came off but he scored and was running the game

Pedraza - 6 didn't get too involved but is a tidy player

Wood - 6 led the line well and unlucky not to have a goal to his name

Subs:

Dallas - 6 set up Duke for a fantastic chance

Duke - 6 should have scored another

Monk - 9 got his line up right, thought it was a mistake to take Roofe off though and we lost a bit of momentum.

Great to see a bounce back result, hope we can build some momentum going into playoffs.

True maybe 6 was a little harsh, didn't think the defence as a whole were as good as normal today, Preston created a lot of chances.

Disagree on Pedraza, I think he's a good player ability wise. Just doesn't get into games enough.

Preston did as a Grayson team does and attack. Should have been 5 - 3.

Just seen a video of the "offside goal". Indeed the ref and asst must have been discussing whether Roofe touched the ball as Wood was ONSIDE from the original through ball as i thought.

I have watched the video 10 times and still not convinced Roofe touches it? It clips the back of the Preston player.

Looks a goal to me.

I thought Pedraza had some good link up play with Berardi and Hernandez throughout the game. Not enough pace though, and struggled when he came up against a stronger opponent (ie Baptiste)

Thought Pedraza did ok. He's still adapting to the championship it'd be wrong to write him off just yet

On another note think hernandez plays better when Roofe is playing. They complement each other well

We had some nice little partnerships yesterday. Roofe and Ayling. Pedrazza and Berardi. Vieira and Phillips. No need to mention Jansson and Bartley.

This allowed Pablo to roam free and he had one of his best games for us.

Loved Vieira's discipline and Phillips' movement. Best they've both played for a while and it's great how Monk trusts them together.

I've said a few times that I'm not a Bridcutt fan because he gives the ball away too many times in dangerous areas. He needs to learn to keep it simple.

As for Alf. He has buckets of talent and I can't agree with LIW. I think he's technically pretty good. Maybe a little too left footed but at least he takes people on and tries to get to the by line. Has to start for me and I would keep him next season because he will improve even more. Loved the way he tried to get the SS going near the end as well.

MOM has to be Roofe. He proved what a tricky player he can be and I knew he would score yesterday when I saw how he was up for it.

Oh - and much as I love him Jansson needs to stop playing to the crowd. Just do your job lad and we will still love you!

Maybe am been harsh on Spanish lad.

When I said technically not as good, I thought his first touch was poor, I don't think he was fully fit, every thing was slow.

That's what I thought too yesterday

I thought vieira was colossus yesterday, he had a fantastic game, ayling was brilliant, noticed that Berardi was making more forward runs in support of pedraza who imo is getting better....maybe it was the sunshine & warmth that helped...but all in all a satisfactory performance, incidentally is it normal for Jansson to come of last miles behind the rest of the lads ?.... just seemed a bit odd to me...

It wasn't that Harj - I'd gone by then. It's when the game is in flow that I meant.

It was a couple of times when he did things I thought were a little OTT. The one where he stepped over the ball a few times as he saw it over the line. Taking the pee can get you a good thumping in the next 50/50. The ref had a word with him because he'd blown up for offside and to be honest he might have booked him on another day.

We all love a crowd pleaser but there's a time and a place. At full time I think he has every right to milk it.
