Saved some shots but can't save LFC career

Afternoon lads

Great win yesterday and whilst the Brazilian boys got the goals, it seems Simon took the plaudits.

And so, for the last 24 hours, it's been huge praise coming in from current team mates, the manager, journalists etc.

This has me very worried because I fear this minor resurgence could see him remain at the club.

I understand that some of our fans would love nothing better than to keep Simon (even as a backup). I don't think he should be either.

This is the man that over 3 consecutive seasons was the most costly player in the Premier League.

His kicking is poor, his decision making is questionable and he never looks great dealing with crosses.

What's the feeling on here with regards to Simon? Has he changed your opinion? Is he fit to be Liverpools number 1?

I can acknowledge great saves but saving his career at the club - not for me.

How can you blame the GK Liverpools defence is a real bad bad joke.

With a decent defence we'd have more points obviously because a lot of the goals we tend concede are just more than a joke.

Just think if fecking Adam of all people had scored from that Wij brainfart. Mig saved us that time but that type of goal is a trademark of ours.

Mig has improved in recent months. His kicking is far better than it was. Under Rodgers hê could barely kick it over the half way line when clearing the ball, frankly it was embarrassing. I hope this upsurge in form continues, but he has to continue to be solI'd until the end of the season for me to perhaps rethink my stance on him.

He has dropped so many b'locks throughout his Liverpool career its hard to be convinced he has the minerals to be a goal keeper at Liverpool. It takes a certain mindset and inate confidence to succeed as a keeper at Anfield.

What's the feeling on here with regards to Simon? Throughout his LFC career he has been consistently poor. A couple of good games doesnt change that.

Has he changed your opinion? Nope. He's improved yes, but his mentality is weak and like other players in the squad, he has the tendency to fall asleep during a game. We cant afford players like that to be first team players. Maybe squad options is alright.

Is he fit to be Liverpools number 1? Never will be.

I find it funny that someone mentioned form being temporary and class being permanent. In Migs case it's form (good) being temporary and averageness being permanent.

Liverpool could definitely do with an upgrade.

The form/class comment was mine and the point I made was exactly the same as you. Mig's form is good but he's not top class.

So what've you done here is:
a) misunderstood the comment made
b) laughed at your own misunderstanding
c) restated my original point

That was a bit of a fail really wasn't it

Very hit and miss. Plays a blinder on Saturday with two match winning saves. But Bournemouth had 2 shots on target and both were goals. Similar against Swansea at home too. 3 shots on target, 3 goals. We lost.

We can't keep relying on our forwards to have to score 2+ in every league game just to stand a chance of winning.

Defence has a lot to answer for though, as well.

He's probably having his best season for us this year. However, I do think we can get someone more solid in the summer.
I heard Chelsea will be selling Asmir Begovic. I think he's an excellent keeper and I'd like us to make him a target.

I think karius will be our number 1, I expect him to come good.

To be honest I'm more concerned about the LB and 2nd/3rd choice CB at moment as well as squad depth. It will be difficult to improve the goal keeper situation I don't think Hart would be an improvement and he would cost loads in a transfer and salary. If Klopp thinks a future World Class GK is available he should get him otherwise there look to be more immediate areas to address.
