Beerman & Bates

Something I was thinking last night, in regards to these two and the Celtic cup game.

Anyone think that the reason that Pedro announced these two would start the day before the Killie game and also away at Aberdeen was to see how they reacted to the pressure.

More so for Beerman as I feel that Hill will come back in for Bates in the celtic game. I just think that Pedro was testing the water to see how they would react with pressure of knowing they would be in against Killie (and likely to be targeted by them) and then also playing at the arguably the toughest venue of the season (outwith Celtic) to gauge how they would handle it.

Not seen the young guys, good luck to them, great to see youth getting a chance but never forget...John Fleck!

Like I say from what I saw they did ok, they had a keeper on great shot stopping form behind them who gets the most credit for the clean sheets no doubt and as the 'How good a keeper is Foderingham' thread alluded to yesterday.

For a cup semi-final versus Celtic, undefeated in domestic football, conceded 1 goal in all cup comp, have scored 85 goals in the league and a fair few in winning the LC and reaching the semi of the SC I would be happy to see both of them in the starting 11.

John Fleck is doing alright outside the goldfish bowl apparently..

When you are playing CB you know that if you make a mistake there is a real good chance it will result in a goal. It is a pretty big responsibility to take. I don't think there is anything wrong with him having a couple of shaky moments.

Correct, and the reason Curly is wrong. Young players breaking through is easiest is one of the wide positions. They fck up and someone in the core mops up. Fck up at CB and its a shot at goal. Hardest position to break through when you throw in the physical attributes as well.

I can get that Silver and on the balance of probabilities I was due to get something wrong soon

There was far too much hype about Fleck and there was the suspicion that the lad himself believed a lot of it.

But the move down south has been good for him. He excelled at Coventry and has been one of the best players in league 1 this season.

Next season will be a real test for him in the championship.

I am amazed Warburton has never made a move for him given his league 1 credentials

Juego.

He wasn't the first and won't be the (Tony Watt) last.

Beerman has performed at a level which should embarass our captain quite frankly. He isn't as good as Wallace (just yet) but the performances that he's put in over the last two games have been far more assured than anything Wallace has put together this season imo.

From what ive seen, I wouldn't be too upset seeing Beerman getting an extended run in the side, even when Wallace comes back. Making him fight for his place might be the boot up the erchie he needs. If not then his time at the club should be coming to an end quite frankly. Or play Beerman in front of him as a wide man as he can play there as well from what I gather. Indeed he might even be more comfortable there.

Bates doesn't look great but considering our other two right sides centre half options are Kiernan and Senderos he doesn't look too bad

Probably one of those squad players that every team requires

Very harsh on Wallace IMO. Other than miller he has been our next best outfield performer this season from the players that played in the championship with us last year

Wallace will be left back for years yet, don't get the hatred some fans have for him

Beerman further forward in same wing as Wallace will be more likely , particularly if McKay is offski
