Good result but were we naive ?

Against a clearly better team we defended well and rode our luck.
Albrighton as Tag's said made the ref make the decision. But given the number of chances they created first half a fair result imo.

Now before the usual suspects start i think not man marking and just playing our normal games could of left us with an impossible mountain to climb if Athlectico took there chances.
The change second half nullified that threat if it had been CR he would of been lampooned for getting it wrong first where as TB puts the change to CS's tactical genius. Either way second leg we need to change things.

Does Amartey come in as CH or as a man marker?
Does Fuch's go to CH and Chilwell come on if Wes is not fit?
We can't let them score first or its game over this is the best side we have come up against.

Well done boys and to those of you who traveled and did not antagonize the local police.

The one where Savage said it was silly of Vardy to push him, while the replays clearly showed Vardy never touched him and his arms were down by his side.

If we'd come back with a 0-0 draw it would be just the same as a 0-1 defeat because we'd have to score and keep them out at home regardless. Yes a 1-1 draw would have been better but no difference between a draw or a loss, would just mean penalties but you'd take that.

It means a 2-1 win at home would see us out though.

Need to score 3 to have a chance.

Does this mean we have to be cautious to the point of being over cautious?
I don't think so, we just go 'gung Ho' and score 4 ???

For gawd's sake, I'm sick of all these new UEFA rules...fouls 'near' the area are now penalties, you have to score 3 at home to go through via a 2 legged European fixture....sick of it.

lol a 0-0 draw is a lot better than a 1-0 defeat as any 1 goal win means you are through.

There has been some 'progress'. If it's level at the finish, what is it now-extra time, penalties, 'golden goal' or whatever? Years ago (I'm talking about the '60's) if it was all square, some European competitions (or maybe all) were decided on the toss of a coin.

Yeah obviously but I meant the task is the same, we still have to score and we still have to keep a clean sheet. A 1-0 win will take us to penalties and if you'd offered any of us that chance at the start of the tie, we'd all take it I'm sure.

We can beat them 1-0 and I definitely fancy us to score and now we know how to stop Griezmann I do think we'll beat them. They caused us no problems and but for a dodgy penalty would have failed to score against us in their own back yard.

We came back from Sevilla with an away goal but didn't need it bexause we scored two. We have a goal threat and are a completely different proposition at home. We have players to hurt them like Slimani and one thing they do struggle with is crosses and having him on the pitch is going to give us a very big goal threat.

I'm sure they're not fancying coming here, they may think they can get a result but they'll be apprehensive that's for sure. The atmosphere at home gives us a huge advantage too. It's going to be a tough night for them make no mistake about that.

Also who is to say that we won't get a dodgy decision go for us in the next game? Is it the same ref? If so maybe he'll realise his error, feel bad about it and look to even things up. It's not out of the question.
