Forest v Blackburn Match Thread

Having just done some article prep, before hitting the keyboard, it does all look done and dusted for Blackburn Rovers. I can't really see any hope for them. The news coming out of the club suggest's an attitude of 'lets go down fighting', rather than 'we can still do it'.

Tony Mowbray's 'New Manager Bounce' has expired with Rover's losing the last three on the trot and not winning in seven. They have doubts over leading goal scorer Danny Graham [12 goals] and goalie Jason Steel [ankle].

Blackburn play the Red's on Friday, Bristol City Tuesday, followed by Wolves, Aston Villa and Brentford.

Forest may have a few players carrying niggles after Saturday's game, but apart from Hobbs who probably isn't match fit and Ross McCormack, Forest should field a very strong match day squad.

There is a chance that Forest may go into the game slightly too relaxed; after all we lost 2-1 at their place but that was under the old regime.
The club site is showing a game from 2014 at our place when we beat them 4-1.

I prefer to remember the time we went up there and became a statistic; we were hammered, I think 7-1, with a certain BBC football commentator scoring a hat trick. A humiliating result, if there is still footage of that game, I hope the squad watches it!

Predicting a football result is rather like gambling on the Stock Market ' prior performance doesn't guarantee not losing your shirt tomorrow!'
But if we all concentrate on avenging that 7-1 humiliation of some time ago, perhaps the team can set another statistic at Blackburns expense on Good Friday?

And yet Bear has the nerve to call us bottlers.

We had a crap start and yet up until today give ourselves a chance.

So a word of advice young fella, wind the neck in before you slobber the same crap on our board.

Pity this board if you do go down.

Talking of slobbering crap.....

I was reading the Derby match thread on Thursday and can't help notice Igor pouring his heart out, saying how much ja606 means to him, to finally have other sheep to talk to

The sad thing was the others couldn't even be bothered to read his post

Bless him 😂

Dave, what you say about our away record is correct. But to say we are that bad? Really? I'd prefer to say we were that bad. Whether we are or not under Warburton, it is too early to judge. Remember our dismal away record was put together under Montanier. With Stojkovic, Perquis, Dumitru, and Kasami playing regularly we shouldn't, with hindsight, have expected any better.

We are slowly improving I believe. Our last four games look winnable; we won't win them all of course, but I think we will win at least one. That and a couple of draws will be enough. Reading will be our toughest game, but they will come here and try to win; they can't affor to have a 'do not lose' game plan; that will suit us.

Positive Mental Attitude everyone

Reading and Cardiff are both losses imo.

Reading will be up for it and Cardiff, beyond being somewhat of a bogey team, have Colin, who knows how to get average players doing all the basics, like denying space.

I'd be looking at QPR and ipswitch for points.

Saying that, it's Blackburn vs Bristol, and bristols away form is shocking of late, so we might be going into the games as crunch games and we've already saw how they go.

That's worst case though, we might pick up points or Blackburn might bottle it

FM, Blackburn may well bottle it, they are a really poor team, fairly well organised to close opponents down, but offer little as an attacking threat, That said if they can nick a goal they defend very effectively.
Red, I agree with your statement that we are getting better, but away from home we seem incapable of scoring, I just don't see us getting more than 1 point away, on the flip side we are much better against attack minded teams and so the Reading game may suit us better, but tbh it's a case of which Jeckyll and Hyde Forest team turn up on the day. I would hate to HAVE to beat Ipswich on the last day, as I don't think our players could handle the pressure.

I am convinced that we will get 6pts from our last 4 games

I can see a win and a draw out of the last four games. More than likely coming from the two home games. Colin will be relishing taking on the Reds tomorrow, especially after he was overlooked for the Forest job last summer. He will want to twist the knife.

When I say tomorrow, I of course mean Monday.

You'd have took 3 points from Udders n Rovers given the option

Yes but only if we had beaten Blackburn instead of Hudders

Reading beat Villa 3-1 so maybe last week at Norwich was a blip and not a collapse...
