Rangers v Thistle

PEDRO CAIXINHA has made one change to his team for this afternoon’s SPFL Premiership fixture against Partick Thistle, with Barrie McKay replacing Joe Garner.

McKay didn’t feature in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Aberdeen but will now make his 41st appearance of the season in the final league game before the split.

In defence today, David Bates and Myles Beerman will make their home debuts.

With Lee Wallace, Clint Hill and Rob Kiernan recovering from injuries, Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has named the same backline that started against the Dons, which means 20-year-old centre-half Bates and 18-year-old left-back Beerman retain their places in the side for the third game in a row.

Having helped keep two clean sheets in the Light Blues’ previous games at Rugby Park and Pittodrie, the Gers boss will be hoping for more of the same from the youngsters against Alan Archibald’s men, who secured a top six finish following their 1-0 victory over Motherwell on April 8.

Between the posts against the Jags this afternoon is Wes Foderingham and in front of the Gers number one is a back four of James Tavernier, Bates, Danny Wilson and Beerman.

Ahead of them in what is expected to be a 4-2-3-1 formation are midfielders Emerson Hyndman, Jon Toral and Jason Holt and forwards McKay, Martyn Waghorn, and Pittodrie hero Kenny Miller.

Joe Dodoo, who also scored the memorable third goal in the Granite City, is again named on the bench and sitting alongside him in the dug-out will be Garner, goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, Josh Windass, Lee Hodson, Andy Halliday and Aidan Wilson.

RANGERS: Foderingham, Tavernier, Bates, D. Wilson, Beerman, Hyndman, Toral, Holt, McKay, Miller, Waghorn.

SUBS: Alnwick, Windass, Dodoo, Halliday, Hodson, Garner, A. Wilson.
