That was a total bottle job today

Let's get the excuses out of the way first.

It was handball for their first goal. So what
Courtois was injured. So what
Alonso pulled out of the team at the last minute. So what.

Are we really that feckin fragile as a squad? If we are, then our position at the top of the table is totally false.

Those three situations combined might have had an influence on the result if the contest between ourselves and United today had been close, but it wasn't. United didn't even play that well and still outplayed us.

Losing at OT is really not a big deal, nothing to be ashamed off, but performing like we did today, at this stage of the season, when we are fighting for the title is unacceptable and almost unforgivable.

I say almost unforgivable because our destiny is still in our own hands and I honestly believe that as well are Spurs are playing right now, they will still at least draw one of their remaining games meaning that 13 points from our last 6 matches will be enough.

But we have to react straight away, another bottle job like today and I think mentally we will be gone as a team capable of winning the title. Today was not a performance worthy of a team with title aspirations.

And a special mention for Costa..............."Simply not fit to wear the shirt today. This team needs you for the last 6 games, where the feck are you?".

I've just had a look at the remaining fixtures for the season I do not understand how some people say Spurs have got an easy run in. They have got after us in the F.A Cup Crystal palace (a) on the 26th which is a London derby plus they're still fighting to stay in the division. They then have Arsenal at home on the 30th which is against their most hated rivals. Then they have yet another London derby against West ham at the Olympic stadium on the 5th of May. They then have a 9 day rest before they face Man Utd at home on the 14th who will more than likely be still fighting for a Champions league spot. Then they have to go to Leicester and apart from them wanting to hand us the title like we did for them last year this game will have no meaning. Then for their final game of the season they have to go to Hull which depending on there results up to then they could need points to stay up.
Chelsea on the other hand have got Southampton at home on the 25th who have got pretty much nothing to play for. We then have Everton away on the 30th which is our hardest game remaining. We then host Middlesbrough on the 8th of May who could be relegated by then. We then have West Brom on the 12th at the Hawthorns they don't have much to play for now apart from pride as they're safe from relegation and no chance of getting into Europe. We then have Watford at home on the 15th which could be classed as a London derby but I doubt they'll be fighting for every ball. We then end the season with a home game against almost certainly relegated Sunderland which could quite easily be a rout.

It can change quickly, but the way Spurs are playing right now they will beat anyone............they are playing as well if not better than we were during our 13 game winning run.

They don't concede and they have all their attacking players scoring goals for fun.

And for that reason it is hugely important we put in a performance on Saturday that not only beats them but seriously disrupts their momentum and confidence ahead of their game at Palace.

Biggish. I've just done an article expressing my own views.

People will say calm down.

On Costa, i do hope we get an offer of 50m+ for him.

Conte hasn't probably slept a wink after yesterday's performance. I'd say Poch and Spurs players haven't either, because of the excitment that they're still within a chance.

Conte is good a spotting weakness and reacts quickly to the situation. Hopefully he'll come up with a solution that will the team over the line.

We need some serious investement in that midfield. As much as I love Kante for what he offers to the team, we need someone to play alongside, who can create and drive us forward, Matic is sterile when it comes creativity. Cesc legs have gone, though, when he came on Chelsea started to gain control, albeit still toothless upfront.

Bernardo Silva maybe is the answer to our midfield.

When we on our winning run we were not conceding and Costa was scoring and playing well. Unless that is restored for our run in we will not win the league.

Man Utd deserved their victory.

Chelsea were poor from start to finish.
They were not prepared properly and did not match their counterparts in terms of ambition and desire to win

Huge respect to Conte for coming out afterwards and taking the responsibility for this defeat.

For this reason i truly believe Chelsea will go on to win the PL title.

Think you guys might have the same problem Spurs had last year. No offence but Chelsea aren't exactly the most likeable team in the league. Of course most fans of the top 6 hate Spurs too but most of the teams that you say will be at the beach would rather see Spurs win the league over Chelsea

Lose against us in the cup and it could do serious pschological damage.

Very true. Even though the PL title is a matter of which team gets the most points, the real issue now is which team has the better manager. Which manager will be able to hold his team together and have them focus on one game at a time. Should be interesting!
