I have been defending diego Costa for much of his slump in form recently.
But he amongst a number of our big players performance on Sunday was unacceptable, due to this it was the last straw for me.
Costa Literally looked sunday league on Sunday, he could not control the ball, he could not pass it and he looked like a player who is destined for the exit door in the summer.
Now, we are not blessed with strikers,
Bats is poor, and a false nine wont work against many teams
Ruben however could slot into CF, he has all the attributes to be a CF. hes big strong and quick but he also has excellent technical ability which is something Costa does lack.
My opinion is that it is now time to drop Diego for the moment and chuck ruben in the deep end
Time for Loftus Cheek

Exactly Biggish, everyone seems to want to hang him, yet he's committed no crime yet!!

Well I've said on many occasions for years Loftus-Cheek in first team due to his physique.
Not much else going for him.
For me no brainer loan should have happened a while ago, I've suggested a number of youth in the past that should be ahead of him in squad.

The one academy player who actually got a decent run of matches last season and performed how I expected he would, poorly.
Works in moments/spurts, shirks responsibility, drifts out of sync, can't compete full match.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The can't compete full match point in particular relevant...without blowing around the hour mark.
Time and time again just peters out of matches.

Musonda is one I've suggested for your information.

How many full games has he played for us!!!!
If he's that bad just sell him!

I base my opinion from what I've seen at youth level and first team. Never stood out or strikes me as one to impose/exert authority
Now I'm not saying he's bad, just lacks matches to develop.
Maybe good enough to start at Chelsea one day, provided gains loan experience.
If rumoured loan to Gladbach is true that would be a super development path, hindering himself by staying at the Chelsea.

He hasn't as far as I'm concerned been given a chance to prove what you say he is.
If he is given a fair run and is like that then fair enough, cut him lose and sell him on so he can get on with his career.
I've long disagreed with this present loan system, it should be used for 17/18/19 year olds and no more than two loans, if they don't cut the mustard, sell them on.
If they do show promise give them a chance and if they don't cut the mustard at the next level - sell them on!
We were still loaning out Bamford until he was 24 - absolutely ridiculous, he must have wished he'd stayed at Forest!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no way RLC has been given a decent enough run of games. in his cameos he looks like a player who can do something special, i know that ain't enough on its own with the hard work and graft, but let's see if he can do it.....just not at CF though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He hasn't looked like doing anything special ever. Mceachran showed more promise than he ever has.
Loftus cheek is just an average player. He won't make it at a top club because he's not that good

Play a centre mid player with little pace or aggression as a centre forward is too big a gamble. As carp as he's been Costa is our only hope. Conte should learn from this and give his back up strikers game time

Loftus-Cheek' acceleration is a powerful tool.
That is his greatest characteristic, but only uses it in short supply.

I would prefer to see Bats come in. He can't be any worse than Costa right about now. It won't happen though. Conte loves him
