Well there isnt one tbh but what has happened is the likes of Allardyce, Clement, M Silva <hull manager>, Puel and P Lambert exposed our sht defence; yet maureen, conte and pep havent!
Obviously the first group of managers are not better than the second, so i personally think there HAS to be an attitude problem. For instance, look at Lovren today he was fkn awful yet outstanding vs the likes of cfc, dortmund and city....has benteke better movement than aguero, aumbeyang etc..of course not!
If you cant dominate the lesser sides them maybe your not consistent enough for LFC, that maybe extends to all the defence or maybe not. One point for sure is klopp will now know after this season that he needs leaders and more consistent players in defence....i bet its his number 1 priority!
Case for the defence.

we shouldnt make lovren a scapegoat though. the whole defence and mf has to share the blame. that 2nd goal was absolutely 100% amateurish.
i play footy twice a week and i never see a shallow ball pass through 4 defenders and hit an unmarked no9...absolutely shocking.

Liverpool's problem is in midfield too, the defence is basically left to fend for itself

We had Lucas sitting. While no Kante he was still shielding the defence.
Two individual mistakes from Lovren cost us. For sure he was not helped out by the rest but if he held his position Palace won't have scored. He is another Skrtel.

Lucas is 4 years past his prime, you need more re-inforcements than just a CB, Klopp is probably getting the maximum out of the squad this season by having them challenging for the top 4, the front 4 is good, Clyne is a good player, the rest range from decent role players, injury prone talents and players who aren't good enough to be members of a title challenging team which is where I presume he wants to take them, over the course of 45-50 games over a season you need more than Liverpool have at their disposal right now, and its not just a new CB that'll change that, especially with the way Klopp wants you to play.

thought you guys sign a defender at the beginning of this season, Klaven or whatever his name is?
The main issue isn't about signing a defender but having a quality one available. you can't accuse other top teams of trying to buy the league as they sign quality with huge fund while you sign cheap oversea players who can't compete with those in the club. it better rather for him to develop a defender from the academic if he can't get a quality defender at any price offer.
better still, Showcros should be available to lead from the back for you guys rather than tens of Klaven out there

Lovren has been done down the inside left channel 3 times by Palace alone leadign to goals!
Again yesterday the ball was played down our left side and he didn't stop the ball or read the pass to get into a good position to block, very frustrating.
The second goal was just a calamity, and we'd had a warnign a few mins before where we struggled to deal with a ball in our box that gave them a shot at goal.
Also very poor in final 3rd, Origi was poor, not the type of game for him where space is limited, we were too narrow and didn't create enough.
We move on, hope for some favourable results mid week and can still go into the game vWatford with top 4 in our own hands if City win v United.

It's in the air where Liverpool struggle.
They consistenty lose out in aerial duels no matter who the opponents are.
I'd love to see the stats that show % of duels won.
We barely won one yesterday.

I don't think Lovren's regressing to be honest. It's more like 2 steps forward, 1 step back, then the following game it's 2 steps back, 1 step forward. In essence leaving him exactly where he started.
Also, the media don't help with the 'Liverpool have never lost when Lovren & Matip start together'. Even the commentators said that on Sunday, about 5 mins in. The problem there is that makes Lovren think he's good.
