No promotion for Newcastle?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-39716009

This is a spanner in their works. Hardly surprising when you look at the owners of these two clubs. About time football was cleaned up. Something ought to be done about performance enhancing drugs as well.

Promotion will stand and a big fine

Only maybe because Newcastle are a big club. I remember Swindon being relegated two divisions for financial irregularities. Have the EFL the guts to face Newcastle's lawyers. The Premier league backed down when West Ham cheated their way to safety. The Scottish FA had the guts to relegate Rangers.

The Scottish FA had the guts to relegate Rangers.

That's actually not what happened I'm afraid to say.

Rangers were never relegated and the SFA had nothing to do with it. In fact the SFA bent over backwards to try to help Rangers.

Since I'm here I'll give you a breakdown (even though you probably don't care):

Rangers went into administration
Rangers hobbled on to the end of the season then announced they were going into liquidation.
Rangers licence to play in the SPL (as it was then) was revoked.
A new company was set up to buy the assets and legacy of the club. That was transferred.
As a new company, they applied for the licence to play in the SPL. That was refused by a vote of the SPL member clubs (the teams in the top division).
They then applied for a licence to play in the SFL (the lower leagues).
A vote was held to decide if they would be accepted into the top tier of the SFL. This was rejected.
A vote was held to decide if they would be admitted into the bottom tier of the SFL. This was accepted.
Rangers began the season playing in the fourth tier of Scottish football.
From then on, a monotonous discussion has continued as to if Rangers "died" or not.

I've never seen historic titles bought at auction before; perhaps we should get Mel Morris to buy Forest so we can have the two Europeans Cups that they stole from us when Clough defected

I wonder if Karen Brady will lose her peerage?

Maybe being a Tory does have it's benefits?

Forest had dealings with Newcastle and West Ham.

Just saying.
