Anyone like WW2 "Drama"?

The whole series of this and its sequel are on you tube.

Gotta say one of the main characters in it has replaced Corporal Upham as my new get sweary at the TV

Seems really worth a watch though....I remember its sequel War and Remembrance from 1st time round.

Brummie, JFDI, 69er and Kneerash might enjoy this?

They also have some good shows right now on the discovery and national geographic channels

Gaffer

If you like ww2 dramas this one and its sequel cover both European and Pacific sides of the war. And if memory serves, the holocaust.

I love the World at War documentary...just epic.

Biggish is that the one where the narrator asks some questions which ultimately leads to the question

"Without the benefit of hindsight, what would you have done differently to Chamberlain?"

Which actually has made me look at him differently.

Will have to look in to it.

Last WW2 thing i watched before this was 'Wish Me Luck'

Based on sending spies (mainly women) into occupied France.

Love my docus as well. Watched Hitler a Profile. Even before he gained power, he hated anybody disagreeing with him.

And this 12 to 13 parter where in the 1st episode made me re-think how i viewed Chamberlain.

I think Neville C is now seen as cleverer than at first thought. He knew we couldn't match the German armed forces at that time so his piece of paper bought us some time to catch up - so many people think.

Flash, It's available on one Blu Ray, about 4½ hours long, made by makers of Downfall. Some of the most realistic footage of the Russian Front that I have ever seen and there aren't many German based WW2 films that I don't already own.

I previously bought into the "appeaser" line and judged him via late 20th Century eyes.

But the questions asked in the12-13 part documentary changed my view on that....

The final of a series of questions or excellent points was "Without the benefit of hindsight, what would you have done differently to Chamberlain?"

And i thought that was a fair question.
