Has the cull begun?

Personally I'd be glad to see the back of him.

A bit of a bluffer in my opinion and have been told by a reliable source that this to be so.

McClaren came into a far better side than Our Nige did. There would of been no way McClaren could've made an impact with what Our Nige took over. What McClaren did give the side was more positivity and a few superb loan signings in Wisdom,Thorne,Bamford. That's where McClaren was better suited to the side. Our Nige was a very good and still is a very good Firefighter.

Any manager who leaves an organisation in a better state when they leave that when they arrived has to know what they are doing. Nigel Clough has managed 3 clubs and has achieved that in all cases. Whether he was capable of taking us to the next level we wont know but I have reason to doubt it. After all McClaren, Clement and Pearson weren't.

Oddly enough the one significant change McClaren made was to replace Freeman with Wisdom. Freeman is achieving legendary status at Bramhall Lane now whereas Wisdom's career has faltered.

Correct me if I'm wrong but would his CV read something like:-

Sacked: Twice.
Avoided relegation: Once

It is BEN ROBINSON who has done the magnificent job at Burton, that's for sure.

I'm with Spart and Backo on this, Nigel Clough has done a fantastic job this season in keeping Burton up.

666 can you deny that Nigel's team when he left us was better than the team we have now, even after spending 60 million?

And yes Baz, Ben Robinson has done a brilliant job, he brought in JFH, Rowett and Nige.

Nigel Clough got Derby back to calm waters without a doubt. We are now back in choppy waters having had supposingly better managers. Morris has chucked money at it but that's just what GSE did when they first came in. I agree Clough was holding the side back just before he left and McClaren came in and kicked it on. Rowett has a similar job now...not as bad but very similar.

Despite NLN's conservative leanings he did also teach the team to pass the ball about.

This was a platform SM could build on, let them free of their 'we're 1-0 up with 85 to go let's put Bucko on' straitjacket, shore up the defence and let the others play, plus of course some astute loan signings and the now exalted Simon Dawkins.

Then the Ince, Bent and Lingard affair, as it is now known, in Derby County historical circles, hit us and we never recovered from the catastrophe, spiralling into a frenzied awGee consuming avergae jigsaw pieces from random puzzles that didn't match, fit or connect into that delicate, fine tuned web of effortless beauty that Non League Nigel and Nederlands Schteeeve had spun.

When our befuddled hierarchy cluelessly scratched their heads mystified as to how money hadn't equalled success, they turned back the clock to when it worked, SM inherited the decimated ruins of the Derby Way, we expected the deft Dawkins'esque swagger of old, but owd Steve went pretty conservative too, we were effecitvely playing a 4-5-1 and trying to nick a goal when we rose from the ashes of Nigel Pearson's Ostrich.

When SM tried to turn the clock back it all went Fawaz Al Hasawi on him. Now we have a squad stained with the blood of NLN, SM, PC, NP and SM again. Can GR find balance out of disharmony? Can we build again like NLN did?*

* and pass the ball to each other please Gary, only if possible of course, though.

What a greedy bunch of barstewards. Fingers in more pies than George Osborne FFS.

And what exactly does Rush do to "earn" £500K a year?
