I feel like I have seen that exact game

15 times this season. It's gone way past a joke now. Actually looking forward to the summer now and a break from this team as they frustrate the life out of me.

We are so unbelievably bad in attack my word. No fluency or any cohesion at all. Whatever Jose has done to the defence (injuries aside) it has worked. We do look a decent defensive unit and just going through a ridiculous injury nightmare right now. However the attack has stuttered and stalled all season and it isn't improving. What the hell do they do all week on the training pitch? Nobody ever seems to be on the same wave length.

Games coming thick and fast and we're losing players left right and center. Going for both and could end up with neither.

We badly need to win the Europa and I actually fear for us midweek tbh. Vigo have given up in La Liga and will be all guns blazing. We looked exhausted.

The CM has been at fault for defensive mistakes as well as a lack of cohesion with the attack and a lack of goals.

You realise the midfield are involved in all phases of play, right?

Defensive mistakes? We've got the second best defence in the land

Our midfield has helped create more big chances in the league than anyone else

Our attack has missed more big chances than anyone else

I can't see how us buying a 5th choice CM or keeping the dreadful (for united) Morgan would change anything

Pogba and Herrera should be looking at both playing 45-50 games next season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then we need at least one more CM Robb
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And we will get one

But Jose shouldn't have just brought one in for the sake of it in Jan

No doubt the one he wants would only have come in the summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a squad that Mourinho is constantly repeating is chronically fatigued and you don't think it'd have been useful to have five central midfielders rather than four for the last half a season?

Carrick *has* to be used sparingly. Pogba has had muscle fatigue-associated injuries. Herrera has had to be rested, in Jose's own words.

He's facked up on this Robb. I've been one of his most ardent defenders, but he should have either kept one more midfielder, brought in a replacement, or used TFM, Willock or Hamilton.

You forget Fellaini.

And he did use TFM. He was always gonna be our 5th choice when BS and MS left. And he finally got his chance and then got injured.

Even now we're not in a position where we're in CM crisis mode. We have all 4 fit for the next game.

It's our defence that is the issue.

We have Blind, Tuanzebe and Carrick fit to play at CB.

But we'll probably need Carrick at least to cover CM. Because we only have four players for three spots.

You've mentioned TFM Robb, but Jose hasn't played him. He clearly doesn't trust the lad. It can't be any surprise to anyone that Pogba has muscular injuries or that Herrera has needed resting, because they've both quite simply played too many games.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Jose said he wanted to keep Morgan but after Morgan asked to get first team football Jose agreed (a nice thing to do)

It's a catch 22 situation. Keep a guy who isnt good enough and who wants to leave just in case we can play him in games where he's not gonna be good enough or sell him and free up a space next season for someone who is good enough ?

Regardless of who was let go, the lack of rotation this season is most certainly affecting us and could seriously cost us come the end of the season.

Some players have played way too many minutes and we're suffering for it now because we've looked dead on our feet lately and aside from one or two freak injuries (no fault of José's), the squad just hasn't been managed well enough.

That is the crux of the matter.

It has been Jose's biggest mistake this season, for me.

Superb post
