What's the point of this guy again? I know Conte starts him to give us more steel in the midfield but does this guy win anything? tackle? headers? Does he boss the midfield? If he can't do all that, I'll rather start Cec that can't do all that as well but can help keep possession and get us assists!
He is also too one dimensional. Almost everyone can figure out where is he doing to pass to. His right foot is almost useless.
We need a new midfielder that will help drive that midfield. Someone in the shape of Michael Essien during his prime.

Average limited player. He used to be great but gone through a Torresification and can't do anything anymore (apart from amazing goal last week). He's only in the team because he won't leave holes in midfield. Need to replace him with Verratti or Naingollan.

He means he has turned into a flop for Chelsea.Still much better than Darren Fletcher or even Anderson in midfield for Chelsea.Also we shouldn't have let Ryan Bertrand or Patrick vanAanholt for Chelsea.

Matic was great in his first season back and has been much better this season than last. Conte obviously feels Cesc is neither disciplined enough nor effective enough to break up play. Cesc is my favourite player but you either have to play a system to accommodate him or Luiz. Luiz needs to be one of a three and Cesc needs to be one of a three - this season, Luiz is more important but Cesc's attitude and contribution to the team have been first class.

If we could find a player who has the qualities of both Matic and Fabregas we would have a great player. However, Conte can only play with the players we have available - and Fabregas is too weak defensively to use in a central 2 against stronger opponents.
Everton away is very tough - and the fact that they had very few chances in the game was testament to how hard Kante and Matic worked. They are disciplined and hard working, and made it difficult for Everton to create anything. Fabregas, for all his creative abilities going forwards, is a liability when defending.
Why would you want to drop Matic after he helped us to a 3-0 away win against a very strong team? Bizarre.
