I know it's not been achieved in the best of circumstances but today we set a club record unbeaten run in one season of football.
25 games.
13 wins
12 draws
Everybody played once in that run bar Saints.
Doesn't make us an amazing side - far from it but it does give us something to work with for next season. Being hard to beat is always something good to fall back on rather than losing games 4-3 etc.
So again, while the record hasn't been achieved in the way people would like, it's something no other team has done.
The day we look down our noses at a club record is when we become a bunch of fans too cynical to enjoy even the simplest of things.

Not really op. You get more points for winning one and losing one than by drawing two games.

That is true but losing games can sometimes breed a losing mentality.
It's very rare to lose one than win one then lose one and cultivate any consistency

Only a Liverpool fan could portray a loss as a positive thing when United are on a long unbeaten run

Sounds much better than the reality

The 5 million pound question is whether a run of draws is better or worse than wins with a loss here and there. That's really a highly debatable point, above my pay grade certainly. You could pull stats all day, but how do we know what motivates our players? Were these draws merely making the team accept parity as being acceptable, or would a strapping defeat given us the kick in the rear to invoke real passion? Wish I had an answer, you could call me Messiah if I did. I lean towards the side of the former, because we seem to lack any passion to fight for a win, something I saw for a brief time earlier in the season, like the good old Fergie Time days where the extra time was all ours!
