Anyone remember Hernan Crespo's goal v Wiga

After Chelsea had won their first Premiership title under Jose Mourinho with Eidur Gudjohnssen,Drogba and Kezman Hernan Crespo scored a superb goal v Wigan in the opening game of the season in stoppage time.He also scored crucial goals for Chelsea in 2005-2006 season. His goal against Arsenal was also extremely good and he just couldn't settle in London due to his wife not liking London weather. He was one of my favourite players and he also scored great goals for AC Milan and Inter Milan. I really wanted Crespo to work, as I was excited by his arrival. However, like NPE says, he struggled to settle, and it seemed like Jose preferred Drogba.

I always get annoyed when he ( and Eto'o) are branded flops.

It must be hard to settle when his wife had a miscarriage here and was at Verons place during a violent burglary.

I remember Martin Tyler's commentary on that goal:

"NO!!!! ... for Wigan, yes for Chelsea!"

nsure but doesnt Crespo still have the best minutes per goal ratio for Chelsea. Top player was a privilege just to have seen him play those times for Chelsea

I can remember that goal like it was yesterday. Crespo was a top player. Shame we don't have him now as I think a decade later he would have settled at the club. No evidence to back that up mind.

Yep, remember it well. Wigan played a blinder and the goal was really hard on them, I recall Jose almost apologising to Paul Jewell for it.

I remember watching MOTD. Left foot curler proper goal. Don't think Chelsea were particularly good that day either

Was a big fan of Crespo before we signed him and was so happy when we got him! Gutted it didn't work out, he was a quality player.
