Its not premier league,,its CL.

I know its stages, i really do but when you think about qualification and what it brings you should be thinking about winning; tbf and its hard to see but we have been sht at winning recently!

Compare with CFC?? No, not for me; you SHOULD compare with Bayern, Madrid (both teams) and Barca. You look at them and before the season start you say, "can we beat them?" Right now its unlikely, however its not impossible....last season Dortmund anyone??

I will say now, players like Mane, Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino we can beat them, a one off we can; tbf so could Utd actually with a fit team! We are not that far away, a LB..DM and top top striker plus another dominant CB.

Klopp hit two cup finals in his first year, one a European, then he is looking at CL in his second; it is an upward curve imo. If IF we do get CL and we attract some top top players (i dont believe we need many btw) and we dont need too many then dont be surprised as you were when we beat Utd and Dortmund to hit a European final!

Just stay with the team fellas....its all they want

Such a weird article. Can you not just be like a normal, but wildly deluded, person and say you think we can win the CL next year? Whilst that would also be annoying, considering we don't even know if we are going to be in the CL yet, at least it would be easy to understand.

Personally I think there's no chance of us winning it going on the second half of our season. If we could somehow get back to our first half of the season game, we would have a chance.

If we get to the CL it will be by the finest of margins. There are still huge gaps in our defence and a squad lacking in depth plus the same old injury problems.

My question would be if we do qualify would the squad be strengthened enough to cope? Our last transfer window going into the CL was a disaster.

Celebrating becoming Arsenal?

G-B, we've got three more games to go; anything can happen. Full marks for your enthusiasm and support of the team but, wring yer neck in a bit mate.

Having followed the CL this season, the one question in my mind thoughout was: with our current team, how would the Reds stand against this (take yer pick, they were all good) lot?

Expecting Jurgen to go out, buy absolute gems at rock bottom prices, have them click, instantly and go on to win is, frankly, cloud cuckoo land.

IF - big if - we qualify, on current form, getting out of the first round would be good, a realistic expectation. Then build on from there. Jurgen wasn't too happy at times with his team last night, and in particular the defence, climbing right out of his pram. Hence the need to build.

Nobody thinks that other than the voices in your head.

However, CL is better than EL and given we've only qualified for the CL once in the last 7 years, if (still a big if) we get there then it's certainly something to be pleased about.

If you can't take some enjoyment out of your team improving then there's not much point being a fan.

This is spot on

I imagine we will struggle in Europe next season without heavy investment in summer, but we need to qualify for the CL to get the right players.

Hopefully Arsenal and United draw at the weekend and we scrape past Southampton and that should just about do us. What frustrates me is this should have been all but mathmatically wrapped up weeks ago!
