I watched the Monaco v. Juve game last night, great game, Juve deserved the win. What really caught my eye was the speed with which the defenders from each side, but Juve in particular reacted to any perceived danger within their own penalty box: lightening-quick.
Time and again, their reactions were so instaneous it could make your head spin. Absolutely no thought to consider, no dawdling, bang! The ball removed from danger.
Could it be that our defence just isn't being coached properly? Had that been LFC in there last night we would have been given the treat of our players standing still, statuesque, while the opposition benefitted.
It may we'll be an issue of coaching, or, in this instance, a lack of it.

Partly better defenders, partly just confidence in defending.
They haven't conceded a goal in the KO stages so they don't believe they are going to concede, it's just natural to them and they have that belief they can stop the opposition scoring.
Opposite of our defenders who rarely keep clean sheets so panic when there is a risk of conceding.

Not sure of the relevance of that.
The PL are big wage payers so there will be loads of quality players abroad on smaller wages than players here.
If Bonucci came to England he would probably be on £150k a week.

Imagine the confidence playing in front of a true great of a goal keeper gives the defenders also.
