ABBA Peno's; eh?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39798344

Are UEFA trying to fix something that isn't really broken..?

I quite like the current system and the suspense is palpable as they alternate between teams for each kick; I don't think the suspense would be quite as much with the proposed changes as the onus would almost be on pairs of takers rather than on individuals as at present.

It's not much of a discussion point, granted, but we can't sit around and wait for the eventual out-of-court settlement whereby nothing is disclosed by either party regarding Rush's sacking.

Knowing me, knowing you, the descent into terrible punnery was all but inevitable.

gimme gimme gimme golden goal extra time instead of penalties as a means to settle a match.

Didn't we do the Abba thing a few weeks ago?

Spart. I think you are SO right about 666 and Rush. In this life I've found if someone does something totally underhand, you can never trust them again.

There were plenty of honest, up front, open, ways Rush could have changed Clough for McClaren. But Sam could only do it the underhand way.

Well, now the chickens are home to roost. Imagine how much money has swilled around since then.

Couldn't agree more, Mapdini; if he'd been honest enough to sack Your Nige for the right reasons rather than stagnating the club and losing football matches, we would have been significantly better off.

Athletico's Torres is all for the idea.

666 being deliberately obtuse again. He had the right to sack Nigel. I would not have done, be he quite rightly could do so. It was the underhand manner of his sacking that showed he was not to be trusted.

And now it seems possible there were more sinister reasons why he had to be moved to make room for SMcC.

What was underhand about it? He told him to come in for a meeting, and Your Nige refused so got the bullet via telecom rather than in person. That's Clough's lack of bottle, decorum, and respect for the position, not Rush's.

Sacking a bloke who won't but your dodgy players? I'm with Nigel on this.

That's right 666. Smudge over the other "more sinister" reasons. I too would have told him where to go at 10-00 pm on a Saturday night. And who knows whether Sam was sober and compus mentis at that time. He will have had a few for sure.

Just so you recognise it on the summons, it's spelled "libel".
