Death of a season - Brighton

Last chance for us to show something positive.

Team: Johnstone, Bree, Chester, Baker, Taylor, Bacuna, Lansbury, Hourihane, Amavi, Adomah, Hogan

Bench: Bunn, Elphick, Richards, Gardner, O'Hare, Davis, Grealish

Mainly predictable team. Surprised Amavi chosen ahead of Grealish.

That was a better performance today. For the first time Hourihane was playing in his natural deeper role, likewise Lansbury had more freedom to get up front. Why Bruce has waited this long to do the obvious beats me. And at least the players didn't look like they were already on the beach.

But although we had a number of shots on target they mainly weren't that threatening. In this division you need to score 2 or 3 goals a game on a regular basis to do well, and we're nowhere near that. Full marks to Jack for getting his; he's added a taste for goals to his game. Thought Davis looked good when he came on.

Where does that leave us? The Dr has rated this season as 59 out of 100, and said next season is totally about getting RESULTS. Think that's spot on. If Bruce lets things slide he'll be out; excuses won't do nor should they. Given that rating, I wonder if Xia will act before next season; he's clearly not impressed. Nor am I, to be honest.
