Milner

Milner says he takes full responsibility for us not winning today.

Firstly, it's always a team effort and we didn't create enough to break them down so we cannot rely on a penalty to be winning these types of matches.

Second, I hope he doesn't get any criticism from supporters for not scoring. Remember he's scored penalties in away matches at Spurs, United and City this season to earn us a 1-1 draw in them all. Also got the winner at Swansea from the spot too so that's five extra points that if we didn't have we wouldn't be where we are now in the table.

He's missed one of 8 or 9, and today the players did everything they could (pretty unsportsmanlike) to put him off.

Can't stand Southampton they seem to always resort to those tactics against us.

You can't stand them eh? Your club keeps nabbing their best players, no wonder they hate you.

hold on lads for a second, klopps taking some unfair criticism here

based on the squad we have he's over achieving, anyone expecting more is deluded

Don't buy that excuse. Not having Europe is the equaliser for a small squad. Look at Leicester last year and us under Rodgers. We should be more or less where we are but could have also done better.

It's not unfair criticism.

He is not making the most of his substitutions. Some of that is down to the quality of the squad yes, but quite often you could say it's down to him.

It's ridiculous to expect a player to make an impact on a game when only given 10 minutes do so, how can you?
It's been a recurring theme in this game he waits far too long to change things around.

We have only scored 6 goals from between 76-90 minutes this season. That is incredible poor, only Stoke and hapless Middlesbrough have scored less. Compare to our rivals, Arsenal:18, Spurs:17, Chelsea 17, City 19, even United have double our figure in 12.

Klopp's done remarkably well to have us where we are are but I refuse to believe those figures are all down to the lack of depth in our squad.

With his devotion and commitment to the cause, with his undying professionalism, for me he is one of the very very few who are beyond challenge, far less criticism.

I hope that, when his playing days are over, he joins the coaching staff at LFC. He is up there with StevieG for me.

To be fair we have a right footed central midfielder at left back, why that wasn't sorted in January is beyond me!

A lot of the good parts of this season have been mostly from Klopp, the great run in 2016, the good signings in Mane, Wijnaldum and Matip and the improved form of the likes of Lallana and Mignolet.

He also has to come under scrutiny for how we still haven't signed a left back, the season completely unravelled after Christmas and we are so so so predictable against certain teams. He's had all season to work out a way to beat the crap teams and we've not shown an ounce of improvement this calendar year.

I agree about the substitutions too, way too late. Managers are invariably stubborn as a lot of the time it's why they end up losing their jobs.

Forster called Milner a world class player in his post-match interview.

Every penalty taker will miss one now and again and he's a top penalty taker. It wasn't a bad penalty.

Personally thought it was a soft one to give anyway

I'm surprised he brought Sturridge and Lallana on with so long left. I think he was forced into them due to the penalty miss.
