Very envious watching Chelsea dismantle this Borough side tonight.
Middlesbrough have sat back most of the game and resorted to long hopefull balls to Negredo.
Klopp should take note of tonight's game because speed of pass and movement has killed the away side who have been as deep as Southanpton were on Sunday.
I sat there in the Kop as Lucas played it to Can who played it to Clyne who played it back to Can, back to Lucas and then to Milner before going back to Lucas - repeat. It was soul destroying.
Chelsea are brilliant at putting teams like this to the sword and time after time we flounder.
I back Klopp fully but he really should look to Conte as his ruthless Chelsea side simply tear a defensive team apart with a simple attribute - speed
I'm fully aware that you need certain players to adopt such an approach but perhaps that should be worth considering going into the transfer market

At no point were there 5 defenders on Gabiadini though. Look at the stats to where our fullbacks spent most of the game. I'm not saying that we were good or we attacked enough etc, but we certainly didn't have 5 players back marking 1 at any point in the game.

Did you watch MOTD 2 they showed it clearly that we had 5 players in our half and they had one striker. It may not have been Gabiadini but they had one player against our 5. Phil Neville was talking about it.

Sounds to me like we were trying to get them to come out of their defensive shell by keeping the ball deep in our area but they didn't budge.

In my eyes that is wrong, If you want to play cautiously against Southampton at home when you need a vidctory then we don't deserve champions league.

Except for the other 89 minutes where our fullbacks spent a huge amount of time in the final third you mean?
It's ok though, you just look at those couple of clips and assume it was a constant throughout the game.

Lack of speed, slow in reaction, that's our team. Last week I commented on the lightening-fast reaction by the Juve defenders when the ball was in their penalty box. No doubt we will see it again tonight.
Our current team just don't possess that.
