Doyle was a good player for us, particularly the first few.seasons, it isn't his fault he was given a thanks task or that we adopted tactics that restricted us and him in a big way.

My criticism of Doyle comes after relegation when he completely lost his edge and slowly went backwards and he was pretty dire in league one and we improved massively once he was finally dropped/moved on.

My comments were about him as a goalscorer not as a person.

Where have i posted about Doyle as a person?

I was never a fan of Doyle, but any injury sustained from any sport, requiring that person to quit early is sad. I wish him well in his retirement.

not even a fan when his goals kept us up in the premier league for a second season - the first time we'd managed that in about 30 years???
