You currently have fellaini, Herrera, Carrick and pogba as the midfield options with blind who can also play there. Carrick will be moving on leaving you with 4 who can play there. You're in Europe next season, so if you do move him on you need 2 central midfielders.

Rooney will be moving on too, plus you need another striker with ibra out injured. Martial is a potential to go so you'd need another wide player.

Jose doesn't seem happy with your options at centre back so you'd have to say he'd look for one of them, and he will want a left back and potentially right back with Valencia not getting any younger. Add into that de gea could go and would need replacing and I make that definitely 5 first team players needing to come in and potentially up to 8 if players leave.

So I'd say fellaini would probably need to be retained or you risk too many new players taking a long time to gel.

Yeah that's my point Dave, you'll need a few to replace certain players that will be leaving, a few more to add to the quality of the squad and question marks remain over ddg and martials futures. I think martial doesn't look happy under Jose and Jose doesn't seem happy with martial so it could just be a mutual decision he moves on, look out for Inter Milan interest in him.

With all that it seems unlikely you'll be looking to shed any extra players without leaving yourself well short.
