Teenage rock heroes nearly all gone

Chris Cornell this week passing away unexpectedly

I was a teenager in the 90's living in america(houston, texas) so lived the whole grunge thing and loved the music, sadly though all the bands i listened too are pretty much no more

My fav bands were nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, alice in chains, stone temple pilots, pumpkins, peppers, and the pixies.

Cobain dead 1994 suicide while on heroin
Layne Stalley 2002 herion overdose, 8 years to the day after Kurt
Scott Weiland 2015 drugs overdose
Chris Cornell dead this week suicide

sad how things pan out, u like to think your heroes are gonna live forever

thank god for the music

it's weird how depressed rock singers who make sad, depressed music often kill themselves.

Had a mate who died young and although I don't say this when I see his family and thoroughly feel gutted when I see his kids I was and am more angry than upset with his death due to it being drug related.

I find it hard to sympathise/empathise with famous people who were good but died youngish due to excess etc

If anything am surprised they lived as long as they did

Don't know if he's been mentioned but Jeff Buckley, despite not being grunge, was on route to becoming very big, before his death

yer, love his music

First time I heard him was on BBC2's late show performing live in the studio, what a performance

Speaking of live performances, I was trawling through a comments section on YouTube the other day and someone mentioned The Verve doing "Come on" live in Detroit, as far as live performances go it's right up there, Ashcroft's vocals are just superb, here it is
