Thanks Scruttocks - that is interesting stuff. This is my take on some of that statistical info:
1) It is amazing how Chelsea and Leicester changed positions for the past 2 seasons. Like Freaky Friday. As a Chelsea fan I'm delighted of course that we managed to change back again - I'm not sure I could have handled another season like last year. For all those people criticizing the players - I genuinely believe that it is up to the managers to create the atmosphere and tactics to allow players to play. No player purposely plays badly. Conte managed everyone brilliantly this season - in his first year. Amazing.
2) Spurs can count themselves very unlucky. In virtually any other year they would have run away with the title - they were way ahead of Leicester's total from last year. They just came up against a great team in Chelsea, and a superb manager in Conte. Next year could be their year though.
3) Liverpool have improved hugely under Klopp. For all the criticism he has received, they are moving in the right direction. And without all the injuries they have had, it could have been even better.
4) Everton have improved considerably. But if they are going to lose some of their best players (Lukaku and Barkley?) will they ever be able to break into the top 6?
5) Pep has suffered from heavy criticism too - but they are still incredibly competitive, and improved considerably on last year. On their day I believe they are the best attacking team in the league. They need a better keeper and a couple of defenders though, but I have to think they will be serious challengers next year.
6) Arsenal are 4 points better off than last year - when they finished 2nd! So while Wenger deserves some criticism for not improving much, he is still doing a reasonable job. He is only failing in comparison to the improvements at other clubs. Still think it is time for him to step aside - although I can only see that happening if he wins the FA Cup.
7) Man Utd are 3 points better off than last season. Mourinho always gives you the chance (and the belief) that you can win a cup - which cannot be underestimated. But it's fair to say they have greatly underperformed this season given the enormous investments made. I do believe they will be much improved again next year though.

Yeah I think it does throw up a few interesting things but I guess a lot of it is simply down to just how unusual the 2015/16 season was, practically all the stronger sides struggled (to varying degrees).

I think the small gains for both Arsenal and United are considered too small given the level of investment over the summer and the fact that the 15/16 seasons were a pretty low benchmark.

go on....

Irony for two reason's.

Most of the current Tottenham squad you lot are so "proud" off downed tools to get AVB and Tim sacked, and secondly because you always swerve it when you are told about it

You know football fans are fickle.

If you were told Sol Campbell was joining your club as a coach next season, he was registering as a player. Came in the final game of the season and scored a 94th minute winner to clinch the title, the fact he left you directly for Arsenal would be forgiven by most of your fans in a heartbeat.

In fact you’d cheerfully let somebody wax your back and use you as a surfboard for that scenario to become reality

So you have forgiven Vertonghen, Walker, Lloris and the rest of the snakes that got Sherwood sacked then?
