What's happened to

Dunge's player ratings?
Which I always found enjoyable.

I thankfully missed the Spurs debacle but presumably few came out with credit.

We were awful yesterday in the first half, better in the second.

I've seen comments that called into question Shakey's judgement last Thursday. The decision on the manager is supposedly to be made in the next few days, has his overall tenure been sufficient to convince either way? He achieved what was asked of him but performances have been mixed.

I question if he is the right person to take us forward, but wouldn't be devastated if he was given the job. He can of course be sacked during his tenure, although a panic change is never a good situation.

Thoughts?

Dung no one beleives me when i say the players run the club even old players say what a tight knit group they are means to me that new players will find it hard to break in. Shakey has said to my mate he will get the players to talk to him next season lets see if that happens.

Going back over old old ground i think the owners will want after eight years of the same shake it up again as CR the owners had to something to keep us up maybe the owners feel that things might need shaking up get it shaking up oh well

It's hardly eight years of the same though. It's more five years of the same following a badly failed experiment with shaking things up. And those five years have taken us from mid-table Championship to mid-table Premier League. Not a bad return at all. It's actually whenever we've spent a lot of money that things have gone wrong.

This is what I mean that I remain in the camp of playing a counterattacking, energetic style rather than trying to adjust this, particularly while nobody else is doing it and we have greater choice of that type of player. I'm just not certain that Shakespeare is the man to progress that or the club.

in his favour
no defenders for last few games
bad recruitment or failure to sign targets

he has shown the ability to change tactics during the game and tweak change formations when needed.

Not eight years of the same play i mean eight years of the same people in place including now Rudkin.
I like the way we play but take Vardy away and Marhez and i fear it won't work. If they stay next seasons team should be rebuilt around them.

I think we going to have to replace Mahrez anyway, but I'm thinking that that does provide opportunities for others like Gray.

Vardy leaving would be a massive problem. Hopefully because he started his career late he'll be able to last a few more years (look at Gareth McAuley, for example). However, I would agree that we need to find a replacement in the long term and that will be incredibly difficult. Not just because Vardy's a bit of a one-of in style and story, but because going back through our history we don't usually have a striker we can rely on at the top level. Even the legend that is Emile Heskey was a creator rather than a scorer.

Vardy is central to our style of play, without him we need to change it.

Mahrez has the potential to be world class maybe but isn't central to our playing style and is far easier to replace, it could even improve our current style of play.

Agree with TB there. Whilst the better player, Mahrez doesn't make the current formation tick. Vardy does.

If we lose him in the summer I would be tempted to adjust things and play counter attacking football but maybe with more wide service than we have today to benefit the types of strikers left behind.

However, if he stays we can easily continue in our current approach and strengthen areas where we lack depth.

I am still wondering if Musa could play Vardy's role effectively. He looks like he has all the attributes, just none of the brains!!! In fact, I've seen more footballing awareness in a cat!

Between him Schlupp and Amartey they spend more time daydreaming than actually following the game.

Re Musa - How many times has he played up front,

Barcelona - scored two

Everton - Scored 2

Any more?

He has played up front on other occasions, we just can't remember them off hand because he's been terrible. I do distinctly remember thinking that he was definitely a winger after two or three rather inept showings there.

And then thinking he definitely wasn't a winger after two or three rather inept showings there as well!!
