Season Ratings

Hi all, after what was a fantastic campaign and more progression under Poch here is my individual ratings for our 86 point season

Lloris - 6.5 - Unfortunately for him he didn't have to do much this season, and the handful of times we did need him he slipped up a little bit. He was exceptional in the CL though

Vorm - 6.5 - Good whenever called upon, unfortunate not to play more games.

Walker - 8.5 - Our second best player of the season for me. Shame how it has ended, but especially the first half of the season when all our other players were struggling for form he was solid as a rock.

Trippier - 7 - Did his job as back up brilliantly, good in the league but was poor in the champions league and looked very out of his depth.

Dier - 7.5 - Struggled heavily at the start of the season, but his form mirrored that of the teams and his versatility is such a great tactical advantage.

Alderweirled - 7.5 - Didn't have as good a season as he did last year, with a very shakey start to the season as he struggled with a partnership with Dier. Very strong finish, some of his passing has been exceptional.

Vertonghen - 8.5 - Third best player of the season for me, exceptionally good on the ball and defensively solid.

Wimmer - 5 - Had a bad season whenever he has played, and subsequently found himself dropped for the second half of the season.

Rose - 7.5 - Bit of a shame really, was having an exceptionally good season but injuries ended up getting the better of him.

Davies - 7.5 - I personally think we can do better than Davies and don't like him against the big teams; yet all things considered he has stepped up on the whole when we needed him.

Lamela - 6.5 - Whatever went wrong is a shame, he was our best attacker until his injury.

Sissoko - 4.5 - Did ok at times but a very poor signing and not worth the price tag.

Winks - 7.5 - Great start to the season really cemented his place in the squad, shame that he had a season ending injury deterring his season.

Dembele - 7.5 - Once the five-at-the-back formation came along he impressed, struggled for form before that.

Wanyama - 8 - Excellent signing and first season from the Kenyan, chipped in with a few goals as well.

Onomah - 4 - Never really given a chance but let himself down when offered the opportunity.

Eriksen - 9 - My player of the season, unreal form throughout and finished with a very respectable 8 goals and 15 assists.

Dele - 8.5 - Incredible return, but his pre-December form was poor, 18 goals and 7 assists is a very respectable achievment.

Son - 8.5 - Really made a name for himself this season and 14 goals and 6 assists, considering he has played 1000 minutes fewer than Dele & Eriksen. Is a very good achievement.

NKoudou - 5.5 - Not really been a particularly impressive signing, not done much of note all season.

Janssen - 6 - Likeable and hard working, his lack of goal threat meant he wasn't an adequate back up for Harry.

Kane - 8.5 - At times he has disappointed as he often failed to perform in important games away from home, that being said 29 goals and 7 assists in 30 appearances is outrageous. He is 6th on the list for combined goals and assists in a premier league season.

Pochettinho - 8 - Phenomenal progression under a manager who has made us a club to be proud of again. Getting it wrong in the CL, EL and picking Son as LWB are what has stopped him scoring higher in my books. Lets hope he can bring us a trophy next year.

Probs others I have missed out like CCV/Edwards etc but they haven't played enough minutes to get counted.

Ooh - tough claim to say he hid. Not saying you're wrong but that's quite a statement. Sure he'd hate to hear that levelled at him. He certainly didn't take the game by the scruff.

If you are into stats he only played 21 passes, 52.4% pass completion. Completed one arial battle all game. He just did not look up for the fight that game, and I think he has looked almost scared to wrestle with the opposition CB's at times, possibly due to injuries frightening him?

Kane got an 8.5 because he didn't do it enough in games when we needed him. West Ham, for example, was an appalling performance from Kane. He hid the whole match and did not look up for the fight.

I think the whole team were poor that day, however this was West Ham's Cup Final and probably the best they have played all season!

I certainly could not level blame just at Kane.

As for the cups, I thought we did well in the FA Cup, yes it was a strange decision playing Son as a wing back. It didn't work, but if it had then we would have labelled Poch a genius.

We were the better team for most of the game, unfortunately Chelsea had a very strong bench and are one of those teams, if you open the door an inch the will push it right open and punish you.

I am not levelling the blame at just Kane, it is just why he gets points deducted. Our talisman striker has only scored the one goal away against the top 7, and that was a penalty against Arsenal.

We did do well in the FA Cup, but the Son decision was stupid. He is considerably our least defensively minded player in the starting XI in my opinion.

I'm surprised that you have Eriksen as your player of the season. I am a huge fan and have been since his Ajax days but he was really poor for the first 3 months of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was in a coma the first few months, but he awoke and has been excellent the rest of the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a theory that the little Dane wizard's form perks up as soon as it gets a bit chilly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not looking good longterm then with global warming about.

If we can't make Wembley smaller can we make it colder?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Qatar can air-condition their stadiums then.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
....we'll need a lot of brown envelopes.
