The only reason the Europa cup held any importance was because this is the fiest season that the winner is awarded a place in the CL. As we have been going pretty strong in the league and confident of a top 4 spot we didn't go for it, although I would have loved a cup.

The UEFA cup was a trophy worth winning. Not this mess of a competition.

Won't give any credit to a squad that cost that much to assemble yet play like West Brom.

Total sell out. They didnt want him when SAF retired, despite him being available.

You have to think the reason being 3-fold:

1 - He courts controversy and brings a lot of negative press at times.

2 - He style is negative and not the Utd way

3 - He doesnt bring youth through, and Utd had a great record of doing so under SAF.

They clearly weighed all these things against the fact the he almost guarantees trophies, and decided he wasnt right for Utd.

That was then. Then they became desperate and their priorities changed.

But i would think that their style has to improve. It is actually a style that I think will struggle to put them at the top of the table because this league is so much more competitive, especially at the top. You need goals and lots of them. Spurs' GD was greater than the total amount that Utd scored this season. Spurs flood the box with players, take chances and are a front foot team, but are well balanced. United used to be that under Fergie. No more.

However, he has built a solid defensive base and may be Jose will get a bit more expansive next season and surprise us all.

You just got to laugh at United fans. I started watching Spurs in the year 1990. Apart from the FA cup in 91 we were rubbish during the 90's. However that being said, at least tried to do what supporters want and expect - entertaining.
