Saying monk was no good and it's good news.
It's getting abit daft.
My view on a player or manager changes based on nothing but ability
But it has given me a chuckle because it's just Groundhog Day
Bloody amazing how many are now

I'm one that'll admit I'm still gutted Monk has gone, gutted.

i have never been in the "cult of whoever the leeds manager is" faction
...was it kebablegs put up a thread saying "6000 leeds fans singing sign him up at Wigan" when the wheels had fallen off since Sutton ....dear oh dear
sheep
no manager in this OBSCENE footy wages world should be on longer than 2 years at the very very max
I think Wagner has done amazing at Udders and would certainly try to nab him if they miss out on Monday

Wagner I feel is suited to being at an underdog club, I for one could never see him as our manager after his celebration of a goal against us.

Certainly not ambivalent, but definitely mixed feelings about Monk's departure...
Cons:
- not much attacking football on show
- showed a distinct lack of class in that interview way back when things were very dodgy in September
- having got us into a great position, seemed to allow things to drift
- never quite managed to get a midfield combination that he had real faith in
(Of course, one could say all the above have mitigating circumstances, such as injuries, lack of transfers etc., etc.)
Pros:
- created a unity amongst the players that meant they continued to play for each other even in the 89th minute meaning we scored a whole load of late goals (were we still the top scorers in the last 10 minutes by the season's end?)
- got us into a play-off position despite the terrible start
- got the fans back on side by giving us a season that was streets above anything else we've seen for years
- was a young manager, hence let us believe he could grow at the club and seemed to get more right than wrong
Overall? In my opinion, he did enough to be given another season, despite me feeling that the negatives implied that he might not, necessarily, be the one for us.
But he did deserve the chance.
However, he's gone.
So, it's onto the next and whoever it is (personally, not necessarily opposed to Ranieri) they'll have my support until they start proving themselves unworthy of it!

He was given it but turned it down.

" (were we still the top scorers in the last 10 minutes by the season's end?)"...
errrrrr no...., Hudders and Sheff Wed and Reading all got about 8 -13 net points more than us in last 10 mins + injury time compared to us

Strictly speaking, those things are slightly different, lufc4eva - goals scored in last ten minutes and points earned in last ten minutes - but either way, happy to be corrected.
Thought I'd read in March time that we were the high scorers in the last ten minutes, but perhaps I'm imagining things in my dotage!
