Happy Nigel Pearson Day !

Can you believe that it's a year since the news broke of the appointment of our erstwhile manager Nigel Pearson ? Do you remember where you were at the time ? On this memorable occasion, please feel free to reflect & reminisce on his legacy.
Was it an all-time low point in DCFC history or a opportunity we let slip through our grasp ?
Are you more optimistic at this stage of the current pre-season than this time last year ? Moreover, do you expect Gary Rowett to last longer than Pearson's 5 turbulent months at the helm ?

I wonder how many Championship clubs will try the counter pressing game next yearor will people be copying the 3 at the back Conte thang?

I reckon the owd catenaccio 9-1 with an English hoofball twist will throw everyone off, Chris Martin Ballon d'Or.

Huddersfield promoted, demonstrating the myth of momentum. Lose almost all their last league games and then win the play offs. If only Darren Wassall had been as wise.

A team which only scored 56 goals and had a negative goal difference, promoted. The world has gone mad.

Will they break our record, it's a pretty tough one to break but they have all the credentials.

Sadly I don't think anyone will ever break that record. We were the perfect storm. I think pretty much any team, no matter how out of their depth, will still amass around 20 points at worst. The only teams I would have put close to being how bad we were are hull when Phil brown managed to get most of their points in the first 12 games then pretty much lost every game from November, and Aston Villa who basically gave up, we're terrible but still beat our tally comfortably.

Well done Udders, best penno takers in the division.
If only they had a penalty shootout competition to avoid relegation next season

Don't be sad Harps. Our record, and we benefit not a jot if others are subsequently even worse. It's history, it's over and done with

I quite like it, it's a badge of honour, I would like us to beat the tally next time though.

By beating it I mean getting more points ... just to clarify.

BRIAN CLOUGH INTERVIEW AFTER HIS RETIREMENT - 26th APRIL 1997 - FOOTBALL FOCUS

Winning promotion is not just about the manager. There are hundreds of factors involved in deciding who goes up. Luck, tactics, referee decisions, fitness of players, weather, interference by Sky and BT on game times, injuries, international games, player attitudes etc etc. That is why it is difficult to predict.
