Man Utd in talks for Ivan Perisic

Sky Sports have now confirmed we are in talks with Inter Milan to sign Perisic for around 36m.

What seems to be the thinking here? Maybe Jose has recognised we need experience in the wide areas until the likes of Martial mature?

Apparently Chelsea are also interested

It is all so far detached from reality that I really don't see why people get so worked up about them. I suspect it's more to do with pride than anything

-----------------------------------------------------

I think people would just like to see us take a bit more care of the money we have and put a bit more thought into the way we spend it. We may have a lot of it, more than anybody else but that's no reason to throw it around stupidly.

What I don't want us doing is spending heavily every summer. It takes some of the enjoyment out of football for me. If we can't improve a position by dipping into the youth system, it would be nice if we could identify a player early before they've gone elsewhere and the player becomes much more valuable or be able to negotiate a good deal for a more established player every once in a while.

A lot of work has been done to improve our scouting recently which I'm hoping will yield positive results eventually. At some point, I'd like to see us put a bit more emphasis on really developing young players or players bought for a relatively low fee who have plenty of room to improve.

I hear that. But my issue has been with our recruitment as a whole rather than how much we're spending. There is a whole list of players over the last few years who seem to have been bought with no thought at all about how they fit into our team. And that goes right the way back to Fergie's latter years.

Perisic, I don't know much about. BUT this kind of signing does at least signify a bit of a change in our transfer policy. It's a player who's obviously being bought with the team in mind.

Whether we pay £30m or £45m for him or anyone else, I dunno, I really don't care. Football lost touch with reality a long time ago.

Sky in Italy: Chelsea also interested in signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan. Man United offering €35m. Inter want between €55m and €60m

Christ is stretty being that negative.

He doesn't like the player. I'd say there more negativity in the comments telling him he's negative.
