One of the most iconic cup finals for me personally, yet it was only the other day that I realized half the Spurs shirts didn't have a sponsor on them.

What were the reasons, and why just the cup final?

Apparently (a wikipedia search proved) that we were trying to advertise the strip for next season but there was a mix up.

Found this article on it. Essentially they brought out the following seasons kit on cup final day. The received 4 sets but the kit man never noticed one had no sponsor. One of the guys at the club reckons it was the u18s kit which couldn't have beer advertising. Poor old kit man got booted down to the reserves after the final!
