Can Lukaku become a world class

player at Chelsea?

Despite Lukaku's goal scoring record (43 PL goals in his last two seasons), like many other Chelsea fans, I remain firmly uninspired by the prospect of our club signing him.

Why?

I am not 100% certain why to be honest. Sometimes you just watch a player and don't fancy him. Whenever I see him play, even when he scores goals in games, he just never convinces me that he is good enough for Chelsea.

But, after Costagate this week, and Morata reported to be close to joining United, it seems very likely Lukaku is coming back to SB, at a crazy crazy price.

I am therefore basing my hopes that at the young age of 23, Lukaku has the potential and talent to improve a couple of levels and become a world class striker who the top teams in Europe will fear.

I am not so sure either. One can hope that some aspects of his game will improve under Conte.

I know for the money mentioned people are hoping for the 'complete striker', however given the current market and options available to us, is there a better striker available to us that would pose a better option than signing Lukaku?

I don't see why we can't have three strikers who bring different qualities to the squad.

Lukaku just turned 24. He's still got 10 good years left in him and plenty of time to improve. I definitely can see him upping his game a few levels

Think it would be money well spent if he joined for around the £60M, considering what United are about to dish out on an inferior player in Morata

Not sure about world class but he should score plenty of goals for us. Would he be the perfect signing? Probably not but he can get even better than he is now and unlike a certain Mr Costa he seems like he genuinely wants to play for Chelsea and has a genuine affinity for the club.

Lukaku will get a handful of goals, Especially being the main man. I can't see him scoring much goals in the big games however.

If anyone can improve Lukaku as a player its Conte.

Doesn't matter if he is, he's good enough to help you win the league and improve you

I've been one of his biggest critics but believe he can become among the best about. He's improved a lot during his time at Everton despite still having flaws to his game. His technique and passing can be woeful but it is better than it was, he won't ever become that type of 'complete' forward but he can become world class in his own way, playing to his own strengths.

I love his finishing with either foot, he can take a chance.
