RUMOURS: The press have linked Isco with a move to City.
A Spanish duo are the latest players to be linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium as we kick off another week of Manchester City transfer tales.
A reported target in Portugal is joined by a Real Madrid midfielder in Monday’s Media Watch and we’ll begin with the gossip surrounding the latter.
Isco is the latest name journalists have added to the ever-growing list of supposed transfer targets this summer.
The Daily Star carry the story coming out of Spain, which suggests the Blues are monitoring him.
Joel Watson writes: “Isco is reportedly a target for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as he’s yet to sign a contract extension with Real Madrid.
“Isco, 25, is entering the final year of his deal with Real Madrid this summer.
“But Don Balon say a deal is a way off yet, and some football managers are eyeing a move for the playmaker as he remains unsigned.
“They claim Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has enquired over the player about a potential move to the Etihad."
The second of today’s transfer rumours comes courtesy of the Portuguese media.
Correio da Manha claim the Blues are considering a swoop for Alex Grimaldo this summer, having already secured the services of Ederson.
António Martins Pereira, reports: “Spain's Alex Grimaldo, left-back of Benfica, remains the top target of Manchester City for next season.
“The Spanish coach, Pep Guardiola, knows the player well, who was very close to going to the Citizens in the last winter market.
“The England coach is in the market for a left-back and the recent transfer of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson da Luz to Manchester City has helped to intensify contacts for the 21-year-old."

Isco would be a sensible and logical transfer for City, you are undoubtedly short on talent in the attacking midfield/forward areas.

That's if you believe the papers.

As a United fan I've learned not to, otherwise I'd be celebrating us 'agreeing fees' for half of Europe.
Isco would be strange though, unless he was the replacement for David Silva perhaps but then you've got Bernad Silva too.

The thing I find strange about this is only last Month Marca were reporting Isco had signed a contract extension & was going nowhere as he was happy there after talks with Zidane. As marca is the RM mouthpiece I took it he was off the Market. As for who will he replace? These days with City being in all competitions most players in the squad will get ample game time also factor in injuries & suspensions. These days it doesn't mean one is being replaced.

It's all part of our tactical master plan. Sweeper keeper, no other defensive players, 98% possession stats and win games 17 - 2.

Was going to say the same Kami, with no signing over the height of 5'8". As many small tricky winger/AM/strikers as you can name is the way forward.

But in other really good news, at least nobody is linking us to Ozil. In fact nobody is being linked to Ozil, so the even better news is that Arsenal are stuck with him.
