Here's a video I've been waiting for and if you've got a spare 10 minutes I urge you watch it. I've always maintained that Lukaku over the last 2-3 years has been working hard and improving the weaknesses in his game, to the point he is a very different player to the gangly donkey on loan at WBA and Everton.
He's improved his hold up play, he's better with his front to goal dribbling at defenders, and I think a lot of Chelsea fans have an almost outdated/misinformed view that he's incapable of any sort of intricate play in football, has no first touch, can't hold it up and is only good for finishing. Ok yes it's a highlights video but it's a 12 minute long highlights video of Lukaku doing chit some fans maintain he's not capable of:

I am not against his return at all, proven goal scorer.
We must have a decent back up option on the bench, not sure Bats will be happy playing 2nd fiddle to him though.

Lukaku has some very obvious strengths - his pace, physical strength and his eye for goal are all very good. He is pretty good in the air too, which I also think is probably an improvement on Costa.
That "highlight" video though made me laugh. Yes - he scores lots of goals, but he also makes some terrible decisions, and makes embarrassing mistakes at times. Chelsea's opponents generally play very defensively - which will likely limit the space he enjoyed at Everton. He won't be able to have 2-3 touches to control the ball at Chelsea - it's got to be immediate.
The lack of available goalscorers is making him very expensive, which is not his fault. But I'd much rather invest in a player who has better touch - like Morata or Belotti. They would be better at bringing other players into the attack. I hope you are right, Kunta, and that I am wrong.

When Luis returned the same type of uncertainties were raised, but the manager brought the best out of him and the player improved with experience and maturity.
Imo the same is possible with Lukaku.

Yeah I'm definitely warming to Lukaku coming back as well. A player that actually wants to play for Chelsea and who has an affinity with the club unlike turncoat Costa.
The transfer price is a concern but in a world where Morshata costs £65 million we'll have to pay the money for Romelu.

And yes I would prefer him over Costa, Costas petulance is beyond the pale unfortunately.
Everton will struggle to replace him Imo.
